I don't know who's to blame for this, the search engines or the content creators, but I remember I used to make searches online and finding the exact information I was looking for.

These days I can't seem to find anything, the internet is now a giant waste of clickbait blogs and articles and poor content made by people who are trying to scrape a few $$ off of ad revenue from people searching for information online. It seems to happen more and more for me, maybe it's just the keyword system getting extremely exploited.

I was just searching on Youtube for live streams of Hurricane Irma from Cuba. NOT how Florida is being evacuated, but what's happening right now in CUBA. I clicked on about 10 different live streams with all of them with the keyword "Cuba" in them, and all were broadcasting the same MSM feeds of Florida being evacuated.

Earlier I was searching for a free alternative for a software I'm using, only to find a centralized alternativeto.com website full of affiliate links to a more expensive software.

Just google any "how to" and the first results would probably be the biggest landfill of content on the internet (wikihow.com)

That's just a few examples of how badly the keyword/search system and the websites have turned out to be.

With each keyword, there are hundreds of websites (or videos) competing for traffic and revenue. Even with Adblock on you still feel the popup, the free book offer, some free trial. The content is there just to lure you to do something that will generate money for the website owner/video creator.

The internet is full of "ghost writers" and people who are paid $5 for an article just to lure some more people off of Google. The internet is now full of such articles.

You now literally have to go through the trash to find what you're looking for.

The phrase "Google it" used to be spot on, but not anymore... I find it harder to find what I'm after, and I find myself even more discouraged to do online searches, which never happened to me before. I sometimes rather deal with not knowing, than go through this huge pile of bait articles and videos that are forming the internet in 2017.

Welcome to the future.

I've tried it. I'm pretty sure it provides Google search results, just doesn't track your activity.

You have no idea how right you are. Google is in bed with the deep state, and your searches are purposely rigged in the results display, this much is true. It is a biased display of what they want you to click on, not what you want to click on.
Alas, Im afraid that the only direct hit you will get in any search now n days is on which kind of clown porn fetish you're looking for.

17 million 'clown porn fetish' hits in .0000017 seconds.

They have finally secured the whole internet. Might as well return to the olden days when TV, radio and newspapers were the only sources of approved information.

But I'm illiterate, maybe someone else will show us how to google...

You now literally have to go through the trash to find what you're looking for.

It's called surfing , the good stuff isn't always handed to you on a plate.
Look and ye shall find.

Have you tried using quotation marks in your search terms , that will narrow the search.

I agree with Gortex. That's what's so attractive for me on the internet, it's diversity. When I'm on it takes me to places I wouldn't even know existed. Are they forbidden sites? I don't know till I go there. There are some rubbish sites, some downright weird sites but there are also 1000s of interesting sites that I have never seen and probably never will.
But it's the "rabbit hole" effect that has me enthralled.

Don't search youtube. Search with Google, or something. YouTube will show you what it wants. I have had live streams of the Keys and Miami up on my laptop. YouTube was useless for me too.

Allot of webcams are offline right now. I was looking and could not get one around Cuba.

I have been watching some live feeds from Miami though.

Right now I cant view these cams, but 20 min ago I was watching them. Here are some Miami beach cams for you ...

Surfing used to be fun but that's no longer surfing, that's dumpster diving.

Wikihow is just the worst isn't it. I hate how that godawful site clutters up my hit results when I'm trying to fix something.

In that case I'd suggest the problem lies with you not the internet.

You're not wrong! I can type a specific website name into Google and it still displays several other websites with completely different names before the one I searched.

Sometimes I have to scroll half a page before I find it.

Well friend, that's up to you. My point was that the internet is now full of trash websites made for quick money and that's the first results you get in most searches. Sorry if you consider that natural, cause I don't remember it like it is today.

P.S. Good find with the link.

I truly believe the current internet needs to be scrapped because it's currently constipated and over complicating everyone's lives!
I think Mesh Nets are the future...cut out the potential for greedy manipulators and control over information and sanity at that as well!
Database searching of all that's online can be consolidated to respectfully and intuitively reflect more accurately what someone is seeking.
At a instantaneous experience like teleporting. Too bad for post ¥2K internet...Net Neutrality was lost long ago!

I'll give you a hint-be more specific.

Sometimes you can avoid sponsored results, sometimes you can't. Its a game of dice sometimes and being more specific may just lead you the original source but you need to cross your fingers, as many sources will redirect to sites with infinite links-if you need to click on more than two links, your spidey sense should be tingling.
