This is only confusing to people who mistakenly think the Republicans were always right-aligned and the Democrats always left-aligned.

The left-wing has always been pro-equality and the Republican party was very progressive and left-wing in the beginning.

The only similarities to old Republicans and modern Republicans are the thoughts on a gold standard and high tariffs (which, incidentally, are two of the few things I appreciate about the modern Republican party).

nd Marxists? Nah. Nobody is flying a hammer and sickle flag in America.

Lul wat?

A two second google search will bring up multiple images of people flying red banners and Soviet flags at protests.

That's one of the most preposterous things about this whole extreme left/extreme right divide: in an effort to fight against what they perceive as the current iteration of one of the most brutal regimes in history, some folks are holding up one of the other most brutal regimes in history as some sort of example to aspire to.

Now, if you want to discuss how few there are on the extreme left, that's another thing. Absolutely. Just like there's a comparative handful on the extreme right.

That's why they're called "extremes." But to posit that there's absolutely no extreme left? Absolutely no Marxists? Absolutely no proponents of Soviet era ideology? That's as silly as when other members claim there's no such thing as an extreme right.

I do, however, completely agree that the folks on the extreme right have decided that anybody who isn't as far right as them is a lefty by default. And it's always fun to point that out to them.

Not me or anyone I wouldn't hang with ,thugs who like harming lesser people because of skin are always a joke anyway ,in the end .
They die like the dogs they are and what ever race produced them GOOD deal.

Bad parts of HISTORY are still history, the LAW states they were US VETERANS so we honor those who fought even if misguided..also the flag is a BATTLE flag that stands for rebellion,we have MANY "rebels" these days who are into SOCIALISM so who gives a sh*t about a battle flag when a wave of lies attacks your country?
They are EASY to find THEY use communism as symbology and idiots who like anarchy ,they are almost COMPLETELY into a self emotional function that is QUITE humorous to those of us who lived life at the sharper end...civilians.

SJW's on college campuses are not 'far-left' to you?
From what I've seen, there is nothing moderate about Antifa, black flag anarchists and the like.
People loosing their minds and screaming bloody murder when someone has a 'MAGA' hat on in their presence? Thats not far-left?

Antifa in particular, loves flying the hammer and sickle. A symbol for possibly the most murderous regime and political ideology ever. Look it up. Its all over the place at these 'far-left' protests, whenever a conservative speaker dares go onto their safe space.
as for Marxism, Marxism on Campus
These are the people shaping young minds.

For your last point, name one actual conservative group that endorses genocide.
KKK and Nazis are affiliated with what they believe.
It's their own political ideology, not left or right. It's pure hate and ignorance.
Nothing more.

The KKK and Nazis. You can't just claim them to not be conservative because you don't want to be affiliated with them. Unless I can use that same reasoning to declare antifa as not liberals as well. Because that is what you are doing.

Chaos is WAY too complex here,to transmogrify into multiple groups of absolutism at all

and
That would be OK with me, except it doesn't seem (to me) that Nazi's and KKK are actively engaging in trying to promote political change, they just hate.

What I would classify as the 'far-felt' do.

Perhaps.

The problem is that the folks we've seen claim no extreme right exists other than lefty plants and government plants are dead serious when they say it.

Extremist exists on both sides regardless of being left or right. It's funny to see these White Nationalist and Nazi fight with those on the Extreme left like BLM or AntiFa, because they all have more in common with eachother than they do with the moderate left or right.

Very interesting ...a BIOCHEMIST cannot GRASP that statement?
I no longer can elucidate a MOD hunts me when I do.

I can only grasp INDIVIDUALISM as a basis of analyzing people,Groups are TOO variable here.

I'm not a biochemist... And if your elucidations come with mod edits, you may want to think about working on your tact or manners.

So I think I get what you are saying, that the individual must be judged and not the group as a whole, but your second sentence contradicts your first. Disregarding your assumption that I'm a biochemist, you are assuming that the group that comprises biochemists all should be able to understand your statement. It is exactly analyzing a group of people. Just saying.

Those claiming the party's switched, can you provide a list of prominent Republicans during the civil rights era who became Democrats?

Logically, if the parties actually switched, then we would have seen prominent Republicans who were the proponents of civil rights legislation change over to Democrats would we not? A switch has to be a two way street. We already know only three "dixiecrats" later changed to the Republican party, so we know factually it is false that party leadership switched. I find it highly unlikely that hordes of voters would switch but not party leadership.

I think what actually happened is that the right though supporting civil rights did not engage in identity politics. Meanwhile, Democrats went full tilt into identity politics and leftist politics in the 70s. Maybe as a guilt trip for embracing Dixiecrats?

You know like how some people live a Rock N Roll lifestyle and then all of a sudden have an epiphany and become batsh*t religious?
