He's projecting, he's the John Wayne he's the guy that has this fantasy about how real life combat is without knowing what it really is.

Actually it's called the 18 foot rule it's trained to officers. If someone has a knife or other weapon out and they're within 18ft of you, you can't draw and shoot them before they can get to you.

But again that's the general rule they have to be coming at you or have the will to come at you people don't react in fight or flight situations logically

You have to be able to determine what the right actions are for the situation on the Fly

It's kind of like the difference between people who played poker based solely on the cards in the percentages versus those who played poker based on reading other people the people who read other people better and are better at making other people think what they're thinking the best are the people who do the best.

Robbers get tunnel vision and if three employees were spread out the robber would only be really seeing one victim and not seeing the others draw and fire until he started feeling the bullets hitting his body.

I have seen the security camera footage of a customer walk right up an bash a robber right on the head with a bottle of wine because the robber was so fixated on the clerk he was robbing.

Wow, I just gained some respect for Taco Bell and their employees.

Good use of the 2nd.

Piss poor use. Not only against company policy but as stated above it not only endangers the other customers for their weapons but escalates the situation where they could be hit from the thieves as well. Too damn many John Wayne wannabes in this forum.

Totally agree with that. Three employees banging away, customers scattering, love to see video of this.

Yet if this was an everyday occurrence, far, far fewer people would commit robberies. Disproportionate response, despite the fearfulness of many, works and it works quite well.

Big difference between protecting family at home and guarding a few measly bucks at work. Intrepid is right, it ain't worth one stray bullet hitting anyone inside the store.

Its only money.

You're wrong. It's protecting all of those people in there because these people have shown that they're willing to threaten your lives with guns and the only thing you can do is either give your lives to them by putting your life in their hands or stand up and defend your own and those lives of those around you

Lives weren't threatened until the employees started shooting. Up until that point only money was threatened. Something Taco Bell has lots of.

B******* lives were threatened the moment the thieves showed up with guns

Those guys had a perfect right to defend themselves. There’s many instances where once the people get on the ground they all could have ended up dead, like a St Valentines day massacre.

Why didn’t they just take the money and go if they didn’t have ill intent.

What is wrong with you people? Two of them were under 21 and illegal toeven haave a gun. But they broke all kinds of rules one that late doors shoud have been locked. Only thing open would be drive thru. Second they shouldnt have more then 150.00 the rest shouldbe dropped in the safe and unable to access it. Third employees are not allowed to bring guns to work. But most important is the money is covered by insurance but failure to follow guidelines can cause the insurance to deny coverage. Worse yet insurance is not going to pay for any damages caused by bullets if employee's were involved. So all damage will have tobe paid by the employer

Here's what I’m thinking.

This was a setup. The three minimum wage gun totters planed with the robbers to rob the joint and turned around and shot the poor fool just to…I don’t know...get some noteriety of some sort: a movie made
(The Minimum wage killers Story, Staring Tom Cruise) go on reality show, get on fox news, something like that.

This whole story just doesn’t sound right to me.

Wow, absolute morons.

They should be fired immediately for putting the other employees and anyone else in the area at risk.

Selfish egotistical people putting their own fantasy of being a hero ahead of the safety of others.
They are so lucky no-one else was killed, escalating a cash robbery into an open shoot out is ridiculous.

Some people have zero common sense at all. How can people be this dumb?

Seven employees at one of our area restaurants would still be alive today, if one of them had a firearm..and used it.
en.wikipedia.org...

You have no idea if that is true. It's this kind of BS that seeps into peoples brains.

Idiots find one example and suddenly in their mind its 100%... ignoring all the armed robberies where no-one was shot but might have been if the employees behind the register tried to grab a weapon.

Your OP is inaccurate..... The 2 choices were not just fight back or be dead.... The other option was to just give up the cash... Which was not theirs anyway..... It is very unlikely that they would have been fired upon if they had not been armed and would have given up the money...

In my opinion they risked their lives for Taco Bell money, what's the point?.... And not to mention they probably put the lives of bystanders at risk....

Irresponsible behaviour...

LMFAO @ All you fools that think giving the money ends in that alone. Ever been in a hold up? Robberies are not done by socially normal people. You're assuming once the cash is given it's all perfectly ok.
Many times the robbers end up killing the clerk / customers due to lots of reasons and also sometimes without any reason at all.

Purely comedic how you guys are butthurt over the fact that people who carried guns successfully defended themselves and stopped the threat without relying on the authority. They became the authority and that alone crawls under your skin, aye?
They will probably be fired, but it's for their own good anyway.
