That would have worked great at a comedy club, but its perhaps not the wisest line to use in ones profession outside of that field. I love a dry wit, but as other posters have mentioned, the time for that is one where ones uniform is in the cupboard, and one is amongst persons who can reasonably be expected to share the humour without either taking offense or for that matter, being emboldened to take that line of humour further than it ought to go.

There are matters of taste and decorum involved.

I don't understand why people on here are so quick to forgive something like this and just dismiss it as "humor".

There is nothing funny about any of this and what he said should get him fired.

Speaking as someone from the area , the Cobb County police force is for the most part impeccable
But , if you want to "mouth off" you are definitely getting the same back at ya

If dumbass had kept mouth shut and gave police officer cellphone , dumbass may have been able to call someone to drive her home. I have seen that happen . A few times.

I will always speak up when I think a cop is wrong, but in this case I think it was meant as humour.

That said it's pretty obvious he was joking or being sarcastic..

It is like literally the worst joke a cop could tell....but a horrible joke isn't a crime or proof of wrongdoing..


It makes him a jack @$$ not a racist murderer..

Though I guess he could be both.. his comment just isn't any proof of that.

Well, to be fair, I said that it was sarcasm, not a joke--they are different things.

But, maybe to your surprise, I do agree that termination should be on the table in this instance, as it shows a severe lack of professionalism, and certainly makes one wonder what he might actually say to a black person.

He has been fired, a lil off topic, but there is another awful vid. floating around of a man perhaps an off duty cop?? With his family in a Subways shop pulling a gun and searching a random teen, who was just standing in line doing teen stuff looking at his iPhone, the teen just let him assault him and went on to get his order......I'm saying for most blk males , this is no laughing matter.

That's was a horribly taunting comment. I'm sure the reception would be more favorably against him here if he was a Black cop saying such a thing to a White person.

Lol the Police departments and NRA suspiciously sent as vocal when the cops are black..

The only Ones I have seen pay a price were black cops , for white kids..

I don't think it's racial more than humans tend to more quickly empathize with those who look like they do..
