Did someone try to ram into the Presidential Motorcade?

Guess that depends on how you'd want to define "around the motorcade." I would include local LE vehicles escorting the motorcade as being "around the motorcade."

You used 'around motorcades', not me. That car appeared right when trumps limo was going by, not just 'around motorcades'.

Yep. "Going by" would be "not in" but in the same area.

So..."around the motorcade." Motorcycle cops getting hit by cars as the motorcade "goes by" would be considered a collision as the motorcade "goes by."

I ignored it because it's incoherent rambling. I haven't "speculated" about the driver involved in this incident other than saying the person that exited the vehicle didn't look to be wearing a HAZMAT suit.

What if they didn't pop out? Yeah, these were innocent idiots. But, what if they were terrorists with explosives ready to launch? Would the SS have noticed them before it was too late?

So extra EXTRA security...at some point the office becomes so far removed we never see the President but online or TV...and what if a real Despot takes over? I think the SS and the Beast as its called is plenty safe considering the amount of money we tax payers spend and the worthlessness that office is becoming!

I don't know about that, but ADEQUATE security would be nice. If I were President Trump, some SS heads would be rolling!

Watch the video and the drivers of 'The Beast' were aware and seemed to move. This was not an accident. It may have been a prank but it was not an accident. It almost seems as if it was not aware it would not be able to traverse the ditch.

Also, the passenger had on odd clothing to me...all white including gloves it seemed. I would love to have seen a closer video. Have not found another one yet.

The guy filming mentions that the flipping manholes are tack welded shut...you cannot prepare for unexpected again you have to have some balance or you will never even see his motorcade in the future think about it for a bit...

Listen up... if the car were considered an immediate threat it would have been taken out either by secret service or local police in the motorcade (Springfield PD / Greene County S.O.). For those not in law enforcement and who have never been involved in a presidential visit this topic is actually covered in pre planning with Secret service / law enforcement on what happens if someone / something breaches the motorcade. Officers in the motorcade dropped out and made contact with the vehicle / driver to see what the hell was going on.

There was no attempt on the President. This lady's car lost its brakes and she didnt know quite what to do. I would imagine had the car been "taken out" people in this thread would be bitching about taking action before getting all the facts.

It is done and over with. No harm came to anyone and it was a mechanical malfunction in her car coupled with not knowing what to do.

Move on people.

It was a good visit. Protesters were kept in check and were warned asshattery wouldn't be tolerated. Lots of Trump supporters came out and had a good time. Trump gave his speech and off he went. Lots of local state and Federal dignitaries came out as well.

It was a good time.

The only drama related to the incident seems to be coming from people in this thread.

They were unware it would traverse the ditch CAUSE IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! LOL Ok I will play along...

Sooooooo if it was not an accident. Whatcha think all these Secret Service are asking the driver and passenger?

And when the determined cause was break failure cause I am betting that kind of breach the car was impounded, they lied?

If there was an issue it would have made the news. Booking photos for Missouri and Greene county show no abnormal bookings.

Not sure what a background check would show but whatever works for some people I guess .

Security WAS adequate.

Apparently is wasn't. An unnoticed sedan was able to lurch out and disrupt the motorcade.

It's already been explained where the car came from. It wasn't hiding in the bushes waiting to strike.

It's already been explained that multiple vehicles in the motorcade reacted to the vehicle before it ever even got clear of the bushes and hit the drainage ditch. The driver of The Beast was moving to the right, away from the incoming vehicle, before the sedan ever even shows up in the camera view. The SUV trailing The Beast was already moving up to get between the sedan and The Beast.

Finally, the motorcade didn't look too disrupted to me.

No it hasn't. Not really. There is speculation that it came off that paved road. But, they could have pulled in where they pulled out. That info hasn't been made public.

So, you're saying it's been established, from looking at the video, that "they" reacted to the sedan as they first saw it? They weren't forewarned, no car stopped to block it before the president's car came by.

They did a terrible job of protecting the president's limo from a potential threat, in my opinion.

They're lucky that these people didn't have nefarious plans. They didn't seem to prepared for such an event at all!
