Came across this video in my internetting. Aerial photos of the area show what looks like a small lake one the other side of trees. I'll try and get those up.

Looks like a this guy tried to jump the ditch but failed to miserably..

What do y'all think? Attempted assassination attempt?

If he thinks an old Ford taurus can ram the beast and do anything....

I'm going to go with suicide attempt.

Wait! What if that guy was a sniper with a grenade launcher, or something worse than just an idiot in a sedan? Don't they have helicopters and # that check the presidential route ahead of time? How could a lone idiot in an white car get so close to the presidential motorcade?

Day drinkers...

Seriously though, I'm thinking it was some drunk trying to get to that mini-mart and was pissed about the roads being closed so decided to try a shortcut.

Because if that was an attempt to get at the president, dude didn't put much planning into it.

When they zoomed in, it almost looked like a woman...the passenger anyway.
Wonder if they had any weapons in the car?

This. Can almost guarantee alcohol or drugs were somehow involved (either going to get it or already had it).

I'd love to see a google map of that area and see if it were actually a road there? I would not imagine so??? Hahahahah. Defo something amiss with this.

According to someone on YouTube, this is the Google map of the spot.

I think it was intentional. Day drinkers dont hang out in the woods.

But that looks like a mini-mart across the street.

I put the Google Map view side by side with the video and it looks like this is the spot.

No drive or access to the highway, so it does look like they hid in there waiting to do that. If it was an accident it's a Guinness Record for dumb.

"Cloverleaf Auto Repair, 2335 E Kearney St, Springfield, MO 65803"

Try that in the map search. It looks the same.

This happened on Kearney St. There's a report of an arrest at 2500, which is the bass pro shop right where it happened:

www.springfieldcrimealert.com...

And there's brief mention of the incident here:

ksmu.org.../0

Lisa Cox, a spokeswoman for the Springfield Police Department, said the only incident that caused major concern occurred when a vehicle crashed into Kearney Street while the president’s motorcade was nearby—but that turned out to be unrelated to the president’s visit, and no one was hurt, Cox said.

More likely a guy that didn't realize what he was doing and then had a "omg that's a motorcade" moment.

Well I'll admit, Cloverleaf Auto Repair wouldn't be my first go-to for booze.
