Besides the fact that you tried to discredit my argument, not based on fact but by discrediting me, we didn't escape capitalism we escaped the monarchy.

True. That's because capitalism still has too much of a hold on our government.

Wars are an example of that.

Anybody who made it through grade school should know that.

Anyone that made it through a war is a much better teacher.

Otherwise you have addressed no other issues point by point in a concise manner other than drawing false equivalencies. This makes it impossible for me to debate you because you've actually not given an argument.

You have yet to provide an intelligent point.

Actually, capitalism establishes our right to own what we produce. I don't want to lose that right.

You lost that right when the constitution was signed. You must contribute to the common good, for the sake of country.

Socialists such as myself do so willingly, without the need to be selfish and think of only myself.

You're welcome.

Socialization isn't the answer the repeal of this act is the answer.

So you don't want private property rights?

You don't want to own a house or a car of your own?

Say it out loud to yourself, "I don't want to own anything of my own"

If that makes sense to you you are a lost cause.

It won't stop until it crashes. There is too much money, not enough anti trust and too much corp to govt- govt to corp jobs/govt positions.

It is sick and to just say capitalism is good-socalism is bad is a simplistic view that is a black and white outlook in a gray world.

What does that have to do with capitalism?

But you admit the government plays a major roll, if not the most important roll in why we are where we are yet you want to raise taxes and increase it's size and power.

Make sense?

No.

The system was subvert, it didn't happen because of it it happened in spite of.

False equivalency.

You don't want to own a house or a car of your own?

What's that got to do with the community owning the means of production?

Aside from nothing?

You're talking out of your ass!

Capitalism does not equate to owning anything.

It means I am in debt to those that do.

No moving goal posts, bro. The OP is claiming that only non-producers want socialism. I pointed out that the largest producer of many things on the planet is full of socialists and communists, which literally disproves his/her point. I also pointed out that communism and social literally aims to empower the workers until they comprise the management class. How on Earth does the OP's theory stand up against that?

And for the record, the Marx theory goes "feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism". The transition from each system to the other involves who creates and controls production. Feudalism was completely top-down. Capitalism allows anyone to enter the fray, but in practice involves the exploitation of labor. Socialism places the labor in charge of the means of production. Communism is supposed to have no need for any central authority because the members of the community are supposed to all know their own roles & perform them voluntarily (like the communist hippie getaways). But of course, most functioning forms of "communism" (like Leninism & "bureaucratic communism") are nothing like that.

cap·i·tal·ism
ˈkapədlˌizəm/
noun
an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

Literal definition from Google.

M-Webster

Definition of capitalism : an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

Notice how private ownership is part of the definition?

Sherman Antitrust Act

I believe this is because of John D Rockefeller acquiring to much power.

So there is a need for regulating Capitalism then.

Who benefits from what China produces? That's really the issue.

You are actually presenting my argument falsely. It's not about who or what produces the most (which is actually us, we produce the most) but about who benefits from it.

I think you and I agree. Seems that you want a pure capitalistic system, won't happen. I want a capitalist system that is restrained by anti trust laws and allows collective bargaining. Won't happen either.

My main gripe is the media is controlled by 6 corps that controls almost all of what we see, read or hear. They are not going to allow a change unless there is force.
