From what I've seen, Harvey has dissipated and moved along so I highly doubt it is going to come back to life and hit us again. Not everyone has the resources or the time to just pack up and go somewhere, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to leave my parents and family behind. Also, evacuating is a nightmare in Houston. I evacuated during Rita and it was awful and I will never do it again. I'd rather stay home and place my faith in God that he will keep me and my family safe as he always has.

i totally understand. You are brave and a fighter.

God bless you sister (or brother) and lets hope and pray for salvation of Houston and its residents.

I had lost a home to fire. Lost everything....took ten years to get back where I was. 10 hard years...part of my life....

Wonder what God was punishing YOU for?

Do you think everything that goes wrong has to do with punishment?

Can a tragic event bring out the true character of a man (or woman)?

Hebrews Chapter 12 - talks how God punishes his children so they will turn from sin... and if that is what happened to me (which I believe did) I give praise to God because what I have today is so much more valuable.

BTW - Punishment can be a real eye opening experience especially when it goes much deeper than flesh and bone.

Let those who are enlightened understand.

Accidents and acts of nature actually have nothing to do with punishment. They just happen randomly to both good people and bad people.

I agree and you are right.

BUT........

From time to time, people get judged by God and he sends his judgement down upon us and we need to be able to see the difference....was this a act of nature or was this divine? Prayer and fasting (sometimes TIME is a factor) will give the answer. In my case TIME was a factor.

I have been judged and punished by heaven and hell and I have had acts of nature occur. The difference? Punishment from heaven or hell goes beyond flesh and bone, it strikes the soul in a VERY personal way which leaves you beyond doubt.

Do you think all ideas within your skull come from you? Is it possible you can be influenced by external means? Do you think now that you are an adult you do NOT have to obey anyone anymore?

Let those who are enlightened understand.

Regardless of what you "believe", what is happening in Houston is an act of nature. It is affecting both very good and very bad people indiscriminately.

God's wrath can easily be avoided by staying clear of certain geographical locations during certain parts of the year. And/or by staying up to date on the weather warnings and calls to evacuate.

I hate it when I mix politics and religion but:

A righteous and God fearing nation has no need for:
1) NOAA
2) National Weather Bureau
3) FEMA
4) EPA
5) The National Hurricane Center
6) Public Education

As these programs continue to be cut, the nation will rely more and more upon the God.
Godly Prophets will give all the warning necessary.
When some prophets disagree with other prophets we'll just run around like chickens with their heads cut off.

But we'll be righteous chickens.

And all those once public institutions,
whose scientific research was publicly available
become privatized,
and the information sold for profit
and the top one percent
benefits alone,

Then in their lofty castles grand
they will look down upon the serfs
"Yes! Yes! Great Again at last!
The greatest feudal system
seen in the greatest land!"

The castle hired preachers will
tell the people that every
disaster is because of unbelief,
so seek out and dispose of
the unbeliever.
----------------------
But that could never really happen. Could it?
