Right, because 93% negative reporting on Trump is not biased at all...

maybe you should check out some BBC news before you go slapping labels about the place.

Yes, because I've never watched the BBC before...

The term "safe space," comes to mind

Whats funny and strange is folks that aren't from the U.S. can see the fake news that FOX constantly spews and the American FOX news watchers can't! To quote Trump "SAD"

Really? The vast majorly can't come up with a single unique ideal and just blindly follow some narrative. I'm sure in the OPs case her American husband is a liberal and called it fake news first...

The true sad part is FOX is not the worst of many, so I guess we can say bad is still bad, but there is always something worst...

If you want to take measurements an actual socialist would be interested in, like income equality, potential for upwards mobility, wealth distribution and all that jazz, America actually scores better than the UK, and America scores very badly in all of them.

The fact is you cannot measure the political leanings of a nation simply by looking at wealth equality or some other statistic like that. That only tells you the state of the economy, not how the economy got into that state. If your logic was valid then nations such as Venezuela would be capitalist havens but they aren't. See: How's Socialism Doing in Venezuela?. I'm saying the political leadership style in the UK, the way the government is run and the overall political leaning of the population is more left/liberal/progressive than it is in the U.S. That is a simple fact and it's clear as day, the U.S. is probably one of the more conservative nations on Earth, that's the only reason Trump stood a chance there. Look at France, they sustained dozens of terrorist attacks in a very short span of time and still elected a liberal globalist who wont protect their borders.

Consider the following stories, how many of these do you honestly believe would happen in the U.S. without causing a huge outrage? Now ask yourself why it occurs so frequently and with such a low resistance in the UK.

Internet trolls face up to two years in jail under new UK laws

Internet firms to be banned from offering unbreakable encryption under new UK laws

Minority youths to get softer sentences in the UK

Sharia law SHOULD be used in Britain, says UK's top judge

UK Will Prosecute Online ‘Hate Crime’ the Same as Real World Crime

UK to ban Diesel and Petrol vehicles by 2040

UK school bans triangle shaped flapjacks

You may argue none of these examples are evidence the UK is embracing socialist policies it just shows they are progressive, however I would argue that socialism and progressive policies often go hand in hand and where you see one you often see the other. There are many examples I could have given like the tax on sugary drinks which they say is to fight obesity, there's always some progressive logic behind socialist ideals.

Working on transforming my husband into a SJW with snowflake tendencies. Have built him a really nice safe space upstairs with some macrame pot holders and knitted blankets. Have already made him a lovely feminist type scrapbook for our anti fascist protest marches.....and am trying to wean him off of his confederate flag security blankie.

Just don't touch his guns that is kind of a sensitive area... Especially since we had to fight you all a couple of times already.

weird you should mention his guns. We lived in the states right after we married, he had guns, went out hunting regularly. And although I hated and feared them he said they were necessary for protection.
Moved over the pond...he had no guns and he often talks about how much safer he feels living here without his 2nd Amendment hardware.

The Government generally seems to exist solely to funnel taxpayer money to private banks and Syrian terrorists.

It's not just debt and war, it's increasing their own paychecks all the time and all the nanny state (socialist) policies which bleed tax payers dry.

Our left wing are not socialists. The left in this country has been hijacked by the new left that has spread across the western world like a plague. They don't care about the poor, the working class, the NHS, welfare, they have abandoned it all in favour of ridiculous things like "gender fluidity" "combating the white male patriarchy" and no end of nonsense.

New left, old left, it's still the left, and they've always used the false facade of morality to justify and propagate their socialist policies, you're just realizing it now. Of course they don't really care about the poor and the discriminated as they claim, it's all about virtue signalling and sucking as much money as they possibly can from the economy so they can implement highly inefficient programs. They draw you in with all their promises of a utopia where there's no inequality but they deliver the exact opposite at the end of the day.

EDIT: All that SJW crap you mention is the progenitor of a socialist regime, they use arguments which appeal to morality and our sense of self righteousness to push their ideals, the very core of socialism is based on a concept of the "common good" and promotes a more communal view of the world rather than seek to protect individual liberty. It's why groups like Antifa are often promoting socialism and even communism, it's the most righteous and progressive path forward in their mind.

Ya you all use bats...lol Not sure I like the power is owned by who happens to be the strongest, though I am a very big guy that could hold his own in that condition too.

Well I sometimes watch fox and I was very confused earlier. I'd been watching some of the hurricane coverage but then took a break for an hour or two. Then I thought I'd switch back over as I'd heard a levee had broke and fox usually cover anything dramatic but it had gone! No warning, just an African news channel roughly where fox should be! Now I'd like to point out that I don't watch fox for news or facts, but they tend to have much more intensive coverage of major events with more boots of the streets than CNN does and I'm strangely fascinated by the random music segments going in to the add breaks. It was just really odd how suddenly it went and how much it seemed to take the rest of the news sources by surprise

Nice google work... did you actually read those articles?

Explain to me how the flapjacks story shows the UK is embracing socialist polices?

..coming from a country that banned Kinder Egg Surprises because they were worried dumb American kids would choke on them.

Lol the flapjack story was just too good to leave out, but if I were to try to justify it I would say it shows a tendency for emotional reactionary responses to unsafe situations, instead of realizing that life is unsafe and risk will always be a part of it no matter how many safe spaces we create.

And you don't think those "emotional reactionary responses" happen in America?

You banned a chocolate egg with a toy inside because you were scared kids would eat it whole... that wasn't even an individual your country as a whole banned it.

I live in Australia not the U.S., and of course that type of crap happens all the time here as well, but based on my observations of the world I'd say the UK is at the forefront of it, maybe some places like France are worse I'm not entirely sure because I pay much less attention to those nations. I'm just saying it how I see it, and yes I see it happening in the U.S. too but I also see a much stronger resistance to this type of crap in the U.S. than most other places and I have to respect them for that.
