Healthcare professionals in California and virginia have reported that people used sunscreen to protect their eyes while attempting to watch the solar eclipse.......

Yeah, I had to read that one twice.

"KRCTV.com reported that these individuals applied the sunscreen because they did not have the NASA-approved eyewear."

“One of my colleagues at moonlight here stated yesterday that they had patients presenting at their clinic that put sunscreen on their eyeball, and presented that they were having pain and they were referred to an ophthalmologist,” Trish Patterson, a nurse at Prestige Urgent Care in Redding, Calif., said.

Oh if only there was video of the conversation prior to the application of sunscreen to the eyeballs.

Weeping for the future is correct.

I bet the conversation started like this...

"Hey, can you just hold my beer...."

Bet they were weeping a bit, too, after staring at the sun.

What idiots. If they had watched the eclipse at night the sun wouldn't have blinded them.

Sunscreen does work though, because the pain and tears distract you enough that by the time you can open your eyes the eclipse has passed.

Don't worry, there will be another eclipse in 2024.

What, no one puts sunscreen in their eyes?
It prevents cataracts when you get older.

Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional.
I do not work for a sunscreen company.
I know nothing about sunscreen, other than it tastes really yucky.
