Police Hunt Gunman After 3 Deputies Shot

Three Lake County deputies were shot today in Lake Kathryn Florida while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Police are now on the hunt for Jason Lee Wheeler who fled the scene after the shootings. No fatalities have been reported.

Three sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic violence report were shot Wednesday, officials said. No fatalities were immediately reported. One deputy was hit in the knee and another was shot in the leg in the confrontation in the Ocala National Forest. No other information on their injuries was available.

The suspect, Jason Lee Wheeler, escaped on a motorcycle, which was later found ditched, said Nick Pallitto, a spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

His girlfriend told deputies that Wheeler has an arsenal of weapons and his property might be booby-trapped, authorities said.
