Despite all the hate from ATS folk, nearly all or completely all who will never raise a finger to help South Texas, Joel remains someone who people feel brings them closer to God.
And if you haven't listened to him before, I suggest you do. The man has the gift of voice unlike any I've ever heard.
I'm not a Christian, per se. But he does move me every time I hear him, and millions of others.
Do any of you thick headed fools consider THAT might be the reason he's successful?
Such hate on this forum.

"Bringing people closer to God" does little for someone whose house is flooded.
I hear this argument a lot raised in defence of thieves and conmen who use religion to legalise their crimes.
Osteen is almost as bad as Peter Popoff.
Joel Osteen is five hundred men better than you and has helped more people on this planet than you ever could or will.
Is he a frigging emergency management specialist, you twit? Do you realize there's more to "helping" people than just opening doors? Once inside, how do you deal with that many people? How do you feed them? Are sanitation systems working properly? Do you remember how bad the Dome in NO was?
You don't even think, do you? You just get an emotion-driven thought in your head and run with it!
Mayor: Houston is looking for another "major shelter"
City officials thought they might be hosting about 1,000 people at the George R. Brown Convention Center, the largest of Houston's makeshift shelters. Now, Mayor Sylvester Turner said it's looking like the convention center will be accommodating close to 5,000 people by Monday night. That brings the total number of people in city shelters to 8,000 -- and, demand keeps growing, Turner said.
We are looking for an additional shelter location.

Well firstly I'd like to point out that you have no idea who I am, what I do, what I've done or what I will do in my life.
Now I like to think if I was a millionaire who owned an obscene giant church in a flooded area I'd use my wealth and property to help people.
The local church where I live managed a great deal when my area flooded a few years back.
That was just a small, fairly decrepid local C of E church in a small poor town and they managed more than the local council.
You telling me this millionaire can't do anything? He can, he just doesn't want to.

OMG OUTRAGE
not, don't care, his church his property he can do whatever he wants, no more virtue signaling, everyone is outraged over everything
what we need are better day to day interaction between people and a community where people feel they belong, Joel Osteen won't fix that

A bunch of flood victims there would prevent the rich people from coming next Sunday and donating lots of money to him.
