Intresting, becasue it appears some people want to be moved from where it's flooded to where it's not flooded.

Despite all the hate from ATS folk, nearly all or completely all who will never raise a finger to help South Texas, Joel remains someone who people feel brings them closer to God.

And if you haven't listened to him before, I suggest you do. The man has the gift of voice unlike any I've ever heard.

I'm not a Christian, per se. But he does move me every time I hear him, and millions of others.

Do any of you thick headed fools consider THAT might be the reason he's successful?

Such hate on this forum.

"Bringing people closer to God" does little for someone whose house is flooded.

I hear this argument a lot raised in defence of thieves and conmen who use religion to legalise their crimes.

Osteen is almost as bad as Peter Popoff.

I sincerely hope this becomes Osteen's downfall.

Something good would come of Harvey if that happens.

OK...so you like Osteen's Delivery and Charisma. Point taken. Anthony Robbins is good in the area of motivation too.

Joel Osteen is five hundred men better than you and has helped more people on this planet than you ever could or will.

Is he a frigging emergency management specialist, you twit? Do you realize there's more to "helping" people than just opening doors? Once inside, how do you deal with that many people? How do you feed them? Are sanitation systems working properly? Do you remember how bad the Dome in NO was?

You don't even think, do you? You just get an emotion-driven thought in your head and run with it!

You have no idea what anyone here may or may not do to try to help in the days, weeks and months to come.

But I've heard Osteen speak.

Next time you do, ask yourself, is he preaching the Gospel or only something the kind of, sort of sounds like it might be based on it.

Is he telling you what you NEED to hear to be brought closer to God or only what you want to hear to feel better?

I know, right?

It's not like he can just get someone to truck supplies in or anything, to help people who need it.

And think of the carpets! THE CARPETS! They'd take forever to get clean.

You do understand that this is typically what churches with congregations often do right? They come together and serve as a body, and not many have a church body as large as Osteen with as much potential manpower to draw on.

Osteen is a new-age false prophet. He leads people astray from God's message.

He probably has his hands tied by insurance companies or the bank. Have any of you thought of that?..if he goes against his terms he could lose everything and then how many people could he help?

Don't waste a chance to bash someone successful, ATS.

Really, you want to defend this POS, tells most of us a lot about you. Osteen is a scumbag.

I get it, really, I do. Some people are moved in a personal and spiritual way by Joel Osteen's proselytizing while the rest of us are also moved, just in a different way.

Sorta like Exlax.

Well firstly I'd like to point out that you have no idea who I am, what I do, what I've done or what I will do in my life.

Now I like to think if I was a millionaire who owned an obscene giant church in a flooded area I'd use my wealth and property to help people.

The local church where I live managed a great deal when my area flooded a few years back.

That was just a small, fairly decrepid local C of E church in a small poor town and they managed more than the local council.

You telling me this millionaire can't do anything? He can, he just doesn't want to.

I did! I did! Back on page 2. Mentioned that Osteen is the Evangelical counterpart to Trump the politician.

A bunch of flood victims there would prevent the rich people from coming next Sunday and donating lots of money to him.
