Obama didn't give billions to Iran...

He lifted sanctions which hypothetically will benefit Iran to the tune of billions..

It's a bs right wing propaganda point..

Israel is true though...and most likely either for:

A) to have a foothold in the region to ensure access to the oil reserves..

B ) just a political football to court evangelicals...

Sad when the best case scenerio is we are doing it for oil...

Trump to roll back Obama-era rule on rising sea levels
“Eliminating this requirement is self-defeating - we can either build smarter now, or put taxpayers on the hook to pay exponentially more when it floods. And it will."

"Obama’s order required federally-funded projects to be two feet above the 100-year floodplain. Hospitals and other critical buildings must be three feet above the historic floodplain.

The Obama administration also issued a rule requiring federally-financed single family homes must be built two feet above the 100-year floodplain. "

"“Taxpayers have been made to shell out hundreds of billions of dollars in disaster-related spending over the past decade, including more than $136 billion for just the two years from 2011 to 2013,” senior fellow R.J. Lehmann said in a statement.

“By contrast, evidence shows that every $1 spent on disaster mitigation can save $4 in post-disaster recovery and rebuilding costs,” Lehmann said.

Trump rescinded this EO two weeks ago.

So the taxpayer will be financing the rebuilding in TX..over and over...cuz according to cheeto ..floods are a Chinese Hoax.

So you are saying Harvey was formed by AWG?

Wouldn't that be your fault too?

Katrina costs were over $120 bil, Sandy around $70 bil. Where'd they get that money?

The wall has nothing to do with the money going to Harvey.

We printed it just like for the wall. Yay debt. How about some tax cuts to make it worse. Hooray!

Formed by AGW??? No they be could claim that...

Made a category stronger by AGW ??? Likely..

Storms are powered by heat. The warmer it is, the more energy available for the storm to siphon..

So logic would dictate that we have made them somewhat stronger..

Ah, but when FEMA leaves . . . why not just re-purpose the fences and con-exes into a wall south of Texas?

LOL, now republicans can fund the wall and houston at the same time, then dems will have to vote against relief for a democratic city. I'm not sure how you paint this as a loss.

They cant predict the weather accurately a week or two out So its impossible for them to say how hot or cold or how deep the oceans will be in 100 years time. Its all BS.

And it just ended the Charlottesville protest story and finally ended the Russian collusion story. This was tragic but REAL and people will always focus on a real story over something the media creates. I'm waiting for staged photo ops, you know ones where the rebel flag is displayed by rescuers, where black rescuers help people with rebel flag shirts, that sort of thing. But I gotta say..... if a flood like this wrecked Washington DC and flooded the halls of power, wouldn't we all be just a LITTLE happy?

The only thing I'm shedding tears over currently is the poor people struggling to get their lives back in order over the weekend.

As it happens, Harvey leaves Democrats with no cards to play. If they act as a block to obstruct and force a govt shutdown it will be them that shuts off resources and aid to Texas.

How does someone "act" as a block? Is that like the guy on TV "acting" like a doctor?

The Dems can't block and force a government shutdown???

The GOP have the WH, Senate and Congress...Historic Unilateral power!...
Impossible to blame Dems for the unrelenting circus that is the GOP.
If they fail to get it done it is their own fault.

The word 'act' does not solely apply to the entertainment industry.
So, no it's not like a guy on TV acting as a doctor.

In the House and the Senate, Democrats have a voting block which Schumer and Pelosi try to use to push their parties agenda. That is one part of their job. 60 votes are required in the Senate for everything outside of budget reconciliation, for example, so as long as Schumer keeps his voting block of Democrats together he can stop many bills ever reaching Trump's desk.

Hope that helps.

Well, Trump will have to make some harsh laws to scare illegals away then. Either way, illegal immigration costs the U.S. more in the long run than this storm did!

The numbers aren't really there to say. They also save people a lot in labor. But I think the reality is the taxpayers are subsidizing select industries profits.

But the public has been misled to believe it's the illegal labor that is the problem.

It's not and never was. Follow the money, it's not the Mexicans getting rich from it.

No...Rain is not made by AWG. Storms are not made by AWG. ...but the severity and frequency of massive storms have increased due to AWG and rising sea levels means that impact of the storms will also worsen. Sloshing around a cup that is almost full and sloshing around a cup that is full to the rim create two different scales of spill.
Ocean temperatures also accelerate wind speeds.

Just heard on NPR the other day, ocean temps in the Gulf of Mexico have been going crazy.

Sometimes 3 degrees warmer.

Warmer oceans create more potential for larger storms.

Go back to school you spoony bard

Pop culture references aside there is an argument that those on the right also have supported criminals like Nixon, Reagan and Oliver North who fell on the sword so Reagan didn't get in trouble?

If the latter two can get away with it then you can't chastise the left for dabbling in dubious affairs as well, and at least they weren't caught in the act. Do I really need to play this again?
