ok its in a magazine, and it may just be speculation, but if you hav a read, it seems to make alot of sense.

The US also looked at a nuclear powered cruise missile aka "Project Pluto" and got as far as testing the reactor at Jackass flats Nevada. The thread was one of the first I started and can be found here:

They also flight tested a reactor in a B-36 but it was for fit testing and the like and never used it to propel the aircraft. Russia as well looked at and dropped it.

Interesting find MadGrimbo This is the first I have heard of a ''quantum nucleonic reactor'' This could be quite revolutionary to the whole aircraft industry. Imagine a plane that wouldnt have to refuel for 20 years like a nuclear sub that would be amazing.
