i will admit - i has a bias against sit on kayaks and a pure hatred of open canoes

so with my

i reccomend :

this or a similar offering from other manufacturers

it can handle moving water and coastal waters [ once your skills // confidence improve - you can look to the medway area paddling the esturies around noth kent - a kayak opens up visiting some of the offshore forts ] - no problems with a single night trip - reasonably fast [ for speed you need long keel and narrow beam ] , reasonably stable

having large items tied o top affects handling and centre of gravity - leading to instability

thats why - i reccomends a real kayak with one bulkhead - you has storage for a wild camp trip - and bouyancy

its a single boat that will give you fun in a variety of conditions - and permit a range of trips

30 km wont be a problem - and it can handle moderate white water and surf

as allways - just my opinion
