Media divisiveness. It's pervades our social lives in different fashions. Through this Americans have been pushed, some to their mental limits, right to the fringe. Although their core beliefs may not even reside there. Counter point views hurling unfounded names doesn't help the cause and the need to refute those claims is on the rise.

Alt-right media and stances don't represent me. I'm not a part of their crowd, I don't read Breitbart and outside of entertainment, I don't go perusing Infowars or their contributors. Conservatives also aren't a proper representation as I am not a religious person nor do I think their beliefs belong in our school.

Ctrl-left. Suppression if not outright censoring of opposing or even hate speech is not something I agree with. First world problems from a small faction being forced in our society is not only wrong but it is a step backwards in my estimation. Globalism and socialism, while sounding great on paper, are not a lasting solution.

I choose Delete. I will not be boxed into a corner. I will not choose a side and labels. I will not assimilate.

New ideas and actual progress, not represented in the progressive party mind you, are what it takes. To that new information and discussion need to be had. Throwing down lines in the sand and shutting out opposing views are central to the divisive rhetoric we see today. You may not agree with but understanding is paramount to denying ignorance.

Time for a reboot.

I think it's obvious the tone on each side has an agenda.

They sensationalize things that have been happening forever and people pick a side and are suddenly enraged.

No one realizes no one who runs the country benefits from the people coming together, or good grass roots political movement.

It's been what, almost half a century since there was this much advertised unrest?

Back then it was real- it was in the streets, it was happening.

Now, it's on TV, and the internet. Sure, there are localized events almost every week, but they're effect is on a tiny percent of the population... Yet covered coast to coast 24/7 until the next event.

Seems More like a gameshow than reality.

The powers that be want to reboot America- and they'll get it.
Shame I'm not ready.

Indeed. Having a centrist view and argument always seemed to get pulled to the max in either direction.

As the saying goes, cooler heads will prevail. Abstaining from the moronic fringes is part of annulling media influence.

I've decided to become a communist since "I'm always being called a commie" (not really but I like to whine about being called things that I'm never called now) and I'm organizing a group of counter-counter-counter-protesters called the "Marxist Manglers" or maybe "Karl's Krushers." (Proletariat Pummelers?)

Also. I disagree with whatever you globalists fake news scum say. And I hate you. Intensely. GRRRRR. #Marx4Lyfe

It's the manufactued divide in this country. People who I've never seen take the political BS seriously are suddenly supper charged.

You're either with them, or against them. There's no having separate ideas about issues anymore. There's a line apparently. And being an independent now is almost like being everyone's enemy.

I'll leave a spot for you in the DEL. For your comedic relief only....perhaps your music tastes.

That's a fair and reasonable assessment.
I know many here are staunch individualists, you can tell by their posts.
They don't follow one side or the other depending on the issue.
That's as it should be, so long as we are free to think for ourselves we need to do so.
It's not just lazy to let others do it for you; it's beyond irresponsible, it's immoral.

That is the precise reason I come to ATS daily. There are some real smart folks here with some very good viewpoints and perspective that I value.

As much as I enjoy slinging mud, the extremes are tiring.

Pretty sure (hope) that was tongue in cheek.

Making up your own name to describe your views is silly on my part but proves to be fairly apt for the subject matter.

I think people are becoming radicalized by the internet into opposing camps. Everyone acts like such an ass on the internet, after a while it feels like the only appropriate response is to ALSO act like an ass. Pretty soon, people aren't rooting for ideas or policies, but AGAINST the trolls they encounter on the Web.

While this is an excellent strategy for keeping the two party system alive in perpetuity, it's a terrible strategy for getting anything worthwhile done.

I love hearing someone I disagree with explain my opposing viewpoint eloquently. I like seeing why someone would think the way they do.

Perhaps my talents would be better suited for the other side? Hmmmm... thinking of a good 3-word chant + hashtag. Something that says, "hey Alt-Right, we see you, you guys are okay with us but be can't say that so we're going to denounce you but really keep coming to the 'free speech rallies'"

No reboot.
We just need to get back to constitutional values, and expand.

No I'm not in favor of the 3/5 African issue- before it comes up.

Make sure you let them know they will have physical opposition. Most likely from those they agree with

Not if one believes in freedom of speech. I would however like to find a way to reduce their bloated influence.
