How do they know for sure. Marriages between slaves was "jumping the broom" Most blacks do not marry and I understand 80% are born out of wedlock? Maybe this is true, but people need to get past slavery and just be nice

I'm pretty sure if we dig some of the right-wing ATS members backgrounds we'd find a few ancestors who owned slaves.

Will Cooper give reparations to Michelle or is she already too rich?

You might just find a few of them whose ancestors were owned by leftwingers ancestors.

Sure. Your point?

You specified rightwingers.
Just helping keep an even keel.

That's exactly what I was doing. The OP is another opportunity to bash leftwingers.

You brought the membership of ATS into the discussion.... and only the right wing at that.

The OP was about Anderson Cooper, in his capacity as a news reporter. I don't believe he has been outed as a member here.

Is Anderson Cooper a left-winger? Is CNN a left-wing news media? Has the member ever created a thread bashing any right-winger?

I added the left wing just to bring balance regarding the membership, that is all.
If you are concerned about left and right wing people from the media, you could have mentioned right wing media types.... to bring in balance.

I am not arguing against balance... I am arguing for it.

Never had any problem with balance. The OP does. That is the point.

Query:

If a person rejects by their lifestyle, deeds and words, the ideals which permitted a person to believe he could own another back in the mists of time, does the fact his ancestors were in the wrong, mean that he is too? If a person advocates for freedom and equality, does his family history mean that he is a liar for doing so, or does it merely mean that progress is being made, away from stupidity, intolerance and inhumanity, and toward a greater, better age of reason?

Yes, but not the right reason.

For example, because Cooper is a decent fellow, for all that he is a Republican, he is not in love with the current administration, precisely because he knows what the rest of the world knows, that Trump and his far right support network, are the greatest threat to the citizens and the foundational principles of the United States of America, for some significant time.

So yes, hes no slaver, even though he is related to them... which is precisely why he can see the wood for the trees with regard to current affairs, and has no time for the current administration and everything that has come with it.

Haven't read the thread, but I won't diss sh!t-4-brains Cooper because of the actions of his ancestors.

Everyone is responsible for their own actions, and besides, owning slaves was the norm back then and quite a few slaves that were given freedom remained with their 'masters' - even marrying and having children with them.

Anderson Cooper is CIA and therefore no sin is greater than being a willing participant in the greatest warpig/propaganda machine known to man - Hitler would be soooo jealous of the CIA's destructive ability and Cooper (with his arrogant eye roll attitude towards all conservatives) is a special type of scum.

# him and the horse he rode in on.
