It looks like the police did the right thing in defending the rights of citizens to assemble and speak at this rally. Do they not have an activist mayor like other dem strongholds? Or does he/she have principle?

In the words of the electoral college in 2016.

Those idiots were defeated.

In the words of the popular vote, they won.

But yeah....

The opposite is true also. Back in May there was another "Free Speech" rally on the Common, ironically there were more of them at that one. Antifa showed up too. No one else though. After Charlottesville last weekend, 20,000 showed up to counter protest against people that if aren't Nazi's and White Supremacist/Nationalists are willing to stand with them in support of "something something let's call it free speech".

I'm a whole lot less worried about the Richard Spencers and Presidents who coddle racists today than I was yesterday.

It's how the US determines pthe president in alternate dimensions. In this dimension it merely serves as consolation to those who lost.

That thing they think determines our presidential elections, and hasn't since the creation of the electoral college.

The right wing term for that is "virtue-signalling". It's how they show the people around them that they engage in right-think.
