I keep seeing threads about nazis.

Is it ok to punch a nazi? A nazi or white supremacist march in Charlottesville...nazis everywhere.

If I could go back to the early 40's and punch Hitler I'd do it...why? Because he was indeed, a nazi. He even had a uniform, with a swastika on it...he was the ultimate nazi - there's little room for doubt.

I don't think many of us have a problem with a genuine bona-fide nazi getting a smack in the chops if they're an actual nazi who is hell bent on pushing a ver far right wing agenda.

But it isn't that clear...I see a lot of people being called nazis, recently I saw a post on facebook where Tommy Robinson was called a nazi among other things. I wouldn't punch Tommy, in fact I'd shake his hand.

Maybe people need to be a bit clearer on what a nazi actually is before they decide whether or not that individual deserves to be punched or worse.

Nobody should be punching anyone until they know wtf they are talking about. Seems now that anyone who isn't far left or has even a tiny smidgen of conservatism is inherently far-right or just a plain ol' nazi. That's a lot of punches to be meted out. Why are even moderate conservatives now being treated like they're racist scumbags and being called white supremacists?

To me it looks like people simply standing up for themselves and pushing back. If a group of people...of mixed ethnicities/race get together and protest over some statue...saying nothing about race and colour can be branded white supremacists...why is it that a group of mostly black people...called black lives matter, who continually bang on about how white people are the devil, to blame for everything...in some cases claim whites are inferior, genetically - are not black supremacists?

So - to clarify, I'd punch a real nazi, you bet your cotton socks I would.

Maybe if we're honest...those "far-right" white supremacists are the ones who need to do a bit of punching...maybe some clarity and a little bit of soul searching is required.

If people can't be honest with themselves...what's even the point any more?

Maybe a slug fest is the only solution, maybe it's just a big competition to see who will rule all else? It's kinda starting to look that way if we're even questioning the validity of punching this one or that.

What a sh**show.

I don't watch any television...I'm talking specifically about recent threads right here on ATS.

Maybe you should read and understand the thread before you respond?

Ambiguous.

Convenient.

I'd say some BLM members harbour similar views...but against whites so that's ok.

Calling someone a jazz nazi is stupid...but I think you fully understand that it doesn't really belong in the context of this thread.

Based on your very loose definitions we can call anyone a nazi.

I see certain individuals post frequently on ATS and often deride alternative sites like GLP...so one could call them ATS nazis...is it safe to punch them?

Indeed...well to clue you in on adult speak...that place where you live - is called your home. You don't necessarily have to call it that but if you want other people to be able to communicate effectively with you it's probably for the best.

I still think you'd be happier under a bridge...since you care so much about my personal life I too have my own "apartment" that I call "home" in Scotland, am 37 years of age and haven't owned a television for 10+ years.

So you gonna participate in this thread or continue to act like a clown?

I suppose my point is that simply calling some a nazi doesn't necessarily make it so.

Seems the general consensus is, if I don't like someone's particular views I can simply call them a nazi and have carte blanche to open fire because they were a nazi.

But who's to say my definition of a nazi is right?

Should I be even thinking about whether I'd be right to punch a nazi if my perception of what makes a nazi is skewed or completely wrong?

No, you can't go around hitting people you like simply because you don't like them. This is a civilised country. You have to go city hall and get a permit first, just like everyone else.
