Fond memories of him hosting The Generation Game.
It was a terrible show, with crap tasks and crap prizes but I loved his withering sarcasm; I'd tune in just to watch him rip the piss out of the
contestants. He'd never get away with it now.
They revived the show in 1990 and he'd toned the sarcasm right down - but then political correctness was in full swing.
Also I remember back in the early 80s my mate telling me that he liked watching Play Your Cards Right just to hear Brucie say, right at the end: "It's
not too late, it could still be a good night if you play your cards right."
Then we'd go out 'on the pull'.
