As discussed, "Nazi" is the German pronunciation of "National"...as in NAZI-on-alle.

In English, I think you USAians are the same, we pronounce National as.....NASH-e-on-al.

Or even just NASH-inull.

So, do we always pronounce German native names, in Deutsche Sprechen? Nine...I mean NO, we dont!!

Examples.....VolksWagen....in German is Volks-Vagen....in English we say...Volks-WAGON.

Mercedes in German is...Mer-Said-es....In English We say....Mer-Seed-eez.

BMW In German, is B-M-V......in English we say BM-double U.

So if you want to be a CORRECT American or native English speaker......

All these statutes are failing to do their job apparently because you guys suck at history. Political parties are not immutable things. Today's Republican Party isn't even the Republican Party of Reagan, let alone Lincoln. Hell, Trump has changed parties five times since the 1980s.

Parties are made up of politicians who are elected and not-elected and join parties and leave parties and eventually die and aren't in any parties. Politicians have changes of heart, flip-flops, personal growth, interpretations, scandals, differences of opinion, varying level of concern and belief in a drifting set of policy positions, subject to their personal views and obligations, not least of which to constituents back home and donors.

And inside the parties these politicians form factions and caucuses, alliances, bad blood, deals, backstabbing and frontstabbing, the work across the aisle, they obstruct and they pass legislation that is popular, not popular, viewed favorably in hindsight or epic fails.

Times change and with them, so do the issues of the day. Different regions of the country have many concerns the same but sometimes important concerns that are unique to them alone. Party platforms evolve and of course society evolves. Voters change strategies to attract them change as well.

There was no single moment in time where the parties "flipped" — they arrived at what they are today through gradual change — some times less gradual than at other times — over the whole of their existences as all the aforementioned factors and more constantly change in interaction with one another and all the other parties that have come and gone.

If you can accept the above, which is clearly true, then you may have an epiphany that illuminates the serious flaw in your current thinking. At that point, I would suggest some research. For these purposes, I'd start with the Bourbon Democrats personally.

Nazis, white supremacists, KKK etc. They support right-wing parties. They were marching together this weekend. You had Duke criticising 'Leftists' and thanking Trump. I've seen placards at the march with anti-Leftist slogans.

Fair enough you want to disown them. Nobody wants them. The thing is, simply saying 'Nazis are leftists' doesn't make it so. They've been around for years and we've got them in Europe too. If you ever meet them, you'll have no illusions that they are emphatically Right-wing.

Not to be one-sided...the Left have the worst elements of Antifa and campus insanity to own. Each side has its fringes.
