IAMTAT,

What is the status on Cleo?

So sorry about the wee kittens. Very sad.

You get a Medal of Awesomeness for doing as much as you have. Hoping there is a happy ending to the story even with all the stillbirth kittens.

As things stand now...there won't be any kittens.
Cleo...the Mom...won't come in the house, but shows up on the back porch for cat food mornings and evenings...and often spends the afternoon on the lounge furniture under the covered back porch.

Another large orange female cat has been showing up to harass Cleo in the middle of the night, but she refuses to come indoors when beckoned.
I leave the porch light on for her for extra security.

She seems to prefer things as they are for now, but winter will be here before long...and I'll need to find a safe place for her.

I'm wondering if this other female cat has killed her other kittens.

UPDATED:
Cleo has been spending the nights and rainy days on my covered back porch now.
I feed her every morning and evening...and spend time with her when I do.
She loves to cuddlde and be petted.

She has a comfy little bed set up for her on the patio couch...and she seems to love it.

My son just moved into an apartment several mile away, and he seems interested in possibly taking her to live with him...at least he's thinking about it.
They do seem to have bonded a bit, but Cleo really seems to prefer me.
Unfortunately, she still won't come indoors because she still fears the dogs.

You ever get her inside and ok with the dogs?

Just looking for a Cleo update!

I've had her in the lower level walkout (away from the dogs)...but as soon as she hears them upstairs (they don't come downstairs)...she runs for the door to get out.

Good to hear an update, and I'm glad she's well and still around.

One thing I would try to do, since you've seemed to just let her do her thing while still providing for her, is: does she still let you hold her, and does she still sit in your lap? You should try just holding her and making her feel safe inside, just think of hr like a child, so she knows she's safe...I had to do that with a cat once...

No brainer here. She wants shelter to have her litter.

Be a decent human being. Help her.

Just spent a very nice Sunday afternoon out on the lower-level porch with Cleo.
Had myself a cold Killians while she took a nap in my lap.

Awesome.

A cold one, and a sleeping, drooling cat in your lap. Sounds puuuurfect, lol.

Kitties are sweet - they say apurring cat is helpful for humans - lowers blood pressure. And connecting with a cat is an awesome experience. I'm so happy for you.

And for Cleo! She's a lucky lady cat to have found such an awesome and caring human companion.
