Do you really believe what you are saying in this post? That you cannot breath a word that Nazis are bad too?

SIMPLE COMMON SENSE

Anyone who thinks the Nazis as a collective did not do horrible things is so wrong there is nothing you could say to them.

I see your stance. I understand exactly where your coming from. Your worried about weight it may carry on others. To this end, and to all of it really.

When is it time for people to not let inanimate objects dictate their emotions?

And yet I dont see anitfa flags with nazi flags?

Oh and ETA The people in the photo arent posing with any groups the UNITED STATES FOUGHT IN A WAR

The Antifa flag is no different than a Nazi flag....both filled with hate.

Antifa is waging a war against the 45th President of the United States of America.
I'll get back to you when you know a thing or two.

Ill never agree with this nor anyone who does. Antifa does not represent what Nazis represent. No different? Youre really drinking the koolaide.

By the very nature that antifa is new and nazism as been around for 80 years, youd think this was a no brainer of a debate.

Can you go in public and criticize nazis at Charlotteville without getting ostracized?

Sure.

Can you even breath a word that antifa was bad too?

Nope.

Tell me again, which group is more powerful and a threat?

I'd think cars would be new and worse threat.

But he is right your post is silly.

No one is saying you can't condemn nazis. Point them out.

But even here on ATS, there are a large number of people calling anyone who said both sides committed violence are nazi defenders. And the media and public world is even worse.

Again. I will wait for you to post an example of what you claimed, that you can't condemn nazis.

So its death count only?

Ok, BLM was there.

Their members killed 5 dallas officers for start.

So they are 5 times worse, right?

People don't understand this, and I think this is crucial.

Objects hold ZERO meaning on their own. They are only that, objects. Nothing more, nothing else. They have zero power. Now, they only start to mean something, once WE give them a meaning. So, the next time you see someone holding a Nazi flag, instead of getting overwhelmed by your emotions, just laugh at the brainless idiots who have them. Because really. It's just a flag that once symbolised something, and now it's nothing more than a way for a small group of people to feel powerful by holding it because it makes some people feel scared or whatever.

That's what I do with people who are still Communists to this bloody day. Just laugh at them

That is my point. The poster I was responding to didn't state that the images/flages bothered them directly, but others and he empathized (paraphrased).

If the truth of the matter that objects are only assigned meaning an individual gives, imagine what could be learned from that!

Maybe theres a miscommunication on my part here.. So let me back up a bit..

all I am saying is that both sides can get triggered. You cant say one side is worse than the other when it comes to emotions.

If you said something to antifa to rile them up, theyll get riled up. If yo usay something to a nazi to get them riled up. Theyll get riled up. Nothing more or less. Im not sure how it devolved into defending nazis

I actually like the Confederate flag. I think it's beautiful. The way it's designed and symmetrical. The colors. I never saw it as racist. I have friends who support it and they have explained to me how it is not racist, explaining the history of it.

I PERSONALLY agree with you. But I am also looking at it from the point of view of people ive sat and spoke with. Just because you and I can disassociate objects from an emotional value doesnt mean they should. Humans are emotional creatures.

John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King, we all share a love of Lincoln..

Did anyone use the term alt left prior to 6 months ago? Who is the alt left? Antifa? I have no clue who they would salute. they arent me. I listed mine, as someone who thinks predominantly on the left( if there truly is such a thing)

Now that's the crux of the issue no? The simple problem. From my perspective, you're not only enabling the atrocities of the past, but you reinforce that the object carries merit.

How are those comments bringing hate
How do those comments not describe the situation as it happened

It wasn't a bunch of hippys with flowers sticking flowers in guns

No hate was brought in, Naple just commented on the hate that was seen, that exists

Gotcha. And you are right, we should not lose sight of the ultimate tragedy; that an innocent girl died.

But when asking which group is more dangerous, I think we need to look at all factors.

Clearly nazis, kkk, BLM, antifa, etc. all have people willing to kill.

The question is, which is more likely to cause more damage.

White supremacy is so univerally rejected in the public eye that to be remotely connected in any way will get you on hate group lists, fired from your job, and ostracized from society.

How about BLM? They are celebrated, invited to the white house, and anyone criticizing them is deemed a racist by many people.

Antifa? The are consider heroes by some for their actions in charlottesville, they are constantly down played in the media, and to even mention they could have been in the wrong to at this rally gets you labeled as a nazi defender.

That is power that is to be feared. A violent group attacking anyone the deem their enemy that is almost never arrested and you aren't even allowed to publicly condemn.

I feel as if youre asking the impossible. Are you saying to disassociate from all material items? What about a post card from your daughter who just passed away. the last thing she sent you. no words on it. Just a post card. But you carry it with you every where you go. Emotional yes. Rational, no. Doesnt mean we all dont do it. We certainly dont judge people for it do we?

I never heard of Alt-Left before last week..and that was here on ATS. I recall them as being the extreme wing of the Democratic party? The Alt-Right's counterpart. Is that correct?

Hopefully no Alt-Right groups have tried to destroy any King or Kennedy memorials. They need to be more civil than their Alt-Left counterpart.

Ok I think there is some miscommunication.

See my above post for a little explanation.

Yes both sides are horrible.

My point is what are the people with power, the culturally influential people like celebrities, the medias, and politicians; what are they saying about6 these two groups.

The nazis are universally condemned by these people (as they should be).

But to even suggest both sides were violent at the rally gets you labeled a nazi defender by almost every member in that group.

And its not just that group; its even right here on ATS.

This is incredible power; a hate group that the very act of calling out gets you labeled a nazi defender.
