Bless your heart, I know you think you're right.

Did you already run out of ad hominem and faulty logic?

Gosh, that was quick.

So if the Jews get offended by Auschwitz and protest that Auschwitz should be bulldozed to the ground, do we go ahead and just do it?
History is ugly, things happened that were horrible. Get rid of the flags, but come on, a statue of General Lee in Virginia is part of that states history, he was the most famous "American" on the South side. He is a historically respected General like General Patton or MacArthur.

"My feelings are hurt looking at his statue", really if your feelings are hurt that easy, you better lock yourself in a room and have no interaction with anybody. Really pathetic.

So, the heck with what the actual citizens of Charlottesville want?

What their duly elected government has decided to do?

You want a statue there and by god it should stay?

Yeah, that's called authoritarianism.

Local determination, remember? Personal responsibility?

Those torches weren't just for light. They were meant to intimidate.

This is all part of a larger plan. Next it will be the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. Mark my words.

I'll take that bet too.

What's the alleged timeframe?

I don't know, but I'm sure they feel like they are on a fast track.

There are some African American groups against the taking down of these statues. Their argument is that it is a part of American history and that it does not scare or offend them.

Oh the moral indignation. We must remove the statue for it is a symbol of hate but we are not above profiting by doing so.

The elected town council in Charlottesville VA is not "the mob."

Try again.

It's not about race. It's about local self determination.

Why do you and others want to dictate your will to the people of Charlottesville?

So let me get this straight you condone profiting from hate? Having to see hate is intolerable but if I line my pockets from it well that's ok then. Situational morality and what not.

Thompson was charged with participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class H Felony) and inciting others to riot where there is property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class F Felony), the Sheriff’s Office said.

Aw dang it, another group of monuments honoring vile treasonous losers came down.

Baltimore hauls away four Confederate monuments after overnight removal

www.washingtonpost.com... y.html

So how many total in how many states have come down?
I lost count, but I don't recall any being spared as yet, so should be a matter of time before they're all gone or in some wealthy racists museum.

K~

The city is selling some trash to the highest bidder?

What's hateful about that?

I've said it before and I will say it again.

"We must preserve our history, good or bad. Destruction of history is the trail head to our own destruction."

How long until someone decides to destroy some aspect of YOUR own history because it offends them?

What next, books about the Civil War should be removed from the library, or burned because they offend someone?

SMH

People,
, think, before acting out your anger in this manner.

There's a reason history books in school are written how they are, from the white point of view. Ethnic groups are used to their history being destroyed, marginalized, and forgotten.

So how long? It's been happening already, for quite some time.
