Cumbria, Australia May 1964.
At the time, Blue Streak missiles were being assembled in Cumbria and then being shipped to Woomera for test launches.

Mr Jim Templeton, who was at the time with the Cumbrian Fire Brigade, took his daughter onto the marshes nearby to have her photograph taken in her new frock. There was nobody else on the marshes apart from a couple of old ladies, and even the normally plentiful cows and sheep had huddled at the far end of the marsh as if they had been frightened.

Unwittingly, Mr Templeton captured the bizzare image above. The figure was not seen until the photograph was developed.
After the photograph was published in a local Cumbrian newspaper Jim Templeton received calls from the Government telling him "not to persure the matter and to drop it".

The Rest Of The Story

I know I`m not alone on this one so I`ll say it, this is the worst fake I have ever seen. Its pathetic, I`m sure someone will wish to disabuse me of the notion but if you do wish to, please consider carefully your justification of its reality.

No cassini, I have been looking at this picture off and on for about an hour and I am feeling the same as you.

Almost looks like a person dressed in a fire-proof suit of sorts to me.

OH NO! ITS COMING OUT OF HER HEAD

Okay,

it looks fake and the story sounds extremely fictional.

Looks like an oompa loompa

This has arrived at the ATS aliens section a couple of times in the past... It has been debunked..It has been proven to be a horrid attempt at proving the existance of ET's...

Enough said...

I searched for this topic on ATS and came up empty.
I believe the image is a fake.

Could this not have been done for disinformation purposes at that time in 1964?

I was simply trying to get info on the subject.

Who debunked this by the way?

"Who debunked this by the way?"

Well I`ll admit I`ve not seen anything proper on the site about this but I don`t think this one warrants it. A doll figure is being held at an angle behind someone, the figure is not in proportion to the relevant surroundings and a quick look at the position of the figure should give it all away. What has been said afterwards is completely irrelevant as the photo says it all. We should all be intelligent enough to see the fallacies in this case

It looks like some half-naked guy wearing body paint or powder, that is standing on the hill behind the girl with his back to her. He is wearing some kind of neckerchief, and you can see the elbow of his right arm as if it is perched on his right hip.

My last question on this subject.

Could this not have been done for disinformation purposes at that time in 1964?

it could of... but why be so fake......

IF I were to sound out some dis information regarding et's I would use more appropriate characters! Not some halfwit dressed as some hazmat specialist.. heh

You got to remember that was 1964.

I was just curious about this one.

like a man with his back to the girl, in a tight white shirt, white hat, and likely a small towel around his neck.... He probably just teed off, and is watching his golf ball. I fail to see the mystery here, or the "alien"

It certainly does look fake, but is it? The image was supposedly verified to be real by Kodak or something. Also, the guy is still talking about it this many years later. Someone should post a link to a debunking, if this has been thoroughly debunked. Things are not always as they seem though. I mean, I'm not saying this is definitely real or definitely fake, but it should at least be looked into a bit. Can anyone confirm the thing about the free film? That would be a start, I guess.

www.ufocasebook.com...

And.... there is nothing that indicates for certain that this is alien related. It could just be some kind of experiment, if real. Who knows?

I was always fascinated by this when I saw it on a TV programme in the 1970's.. Does seem very odd though..

Hell’s bells, I was just thinking of this after reading the Lockerbie posts and my reply about the FBI being on the ground. I remembered some story about MiB apparently warning off the guy and the missiles in Oz and was about to do a search for info. ATS eh, amazing what pops up just in time. Thanks.
