What's your point? It was mostly peaceful that night and people who got physical were arrested. Like it should've been the next day as well. The Berkeley riots looked far worse and the MSM stayed silent the whole time. It only escalated when the #ing Antifa and BLM showed up. Well people are itching for a #ing civil war now get ready because you have nothing seen yet.

One death caused by a lunatic and people pretend it's the end of the world. Meanwhile 18 people get mowed down by 4 gunmen in Burkina Faso by merely sitting in a turkish restaurant and having a good time and just crickets. #ing hypocrites.

Thats kinda my point. Friday night was rough for me- simply because what I witnessed were torch wielding nutcases.. But it was peaceful. Had no issue with it.

It was Saturday that got my emotions in a fizzy.

Yes and people should be pissed that the CV mayor and VA governor allowed the violence to happen just to gain political standing. They're all looking at James Alex Fields and what he has done but competely forgot to ask why and how that happened in the first place. Trump should just come out and tweet. CV mayor you have failed this city. You're fired.

That is odd. The surrounding area looks like a ghost town. Just that one intersection with loads of people pulled together like sardines in a can.

I'm still stuck on how this was a national emergency in the first place.

The local police should have been able to contain this, and while no one likes having racists march around their town for a couple days, this pathetic number wasn't going to be much more than an irritant that could easily be ignored had they just been left alone and escorted everywhere by vigilant cops.

Then they all go back to crawl under whatever rocks they crawled out from under in the first place.

It has always happened this way in the past. Now they have attention, so they're going to show up more often. I just hope they stay at pathetic numbers.

Seriously? Seriously?

Charlottesville driver previously accused of beating mother

The driver charged with killing a woman at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville was previously accused of beating his mother and threatening her with a knife, according to police records released Monday.

Samantha Bloom, who is disabled and uses a wheelchair, repeatedly called police about her son, James Alex Fields Jr., in 2010 and 2011, telling officers he was on medication to control his temper, transcripts from 911 calls show.

Records show that Fields was arrested and put in juvenile detention after his mother reported in 2011 that he stood behind her wielding a 12-inch knife.

In another incident in 2010, she said her son smacked her in the head and locked her in the bathroom after she told him to stop playing video games. There was no indication in the records that he was arrested.

Also Monday, a former classmate told The Associated Press that on a school trip to Europe in 2015, a teenage Fields couldn't stand the French and said he only went on the trip so that he could visit "the Fatherland" — Germany.

"He just really laid on about the French being lower than us and inferior to us," said Keegan McGrath.

I hope you defend other opinions as much as this piece of trash. Seriously?

That intersection is two blocks south and two blocks east of the park where most of the "protest" occurred. The crowd was moving north up the road.

On second thought...I am amazed more photos and videos haven't emerged. These are some people from the photo above:

Uh, what's with the guy with the camera on a stick and a HELMET?

Odd so many people were ready and recording video even as people were being plowed down mere feet in front of them.

To be fair. Everyone has their phones out in 2017. It takes literally 2 seconds to switch to video mode. Even if your screen is locked

You think it's odd that somebody who fancies themselves a member of the press would wear a helmet to a place where violence is already happening?

That's odd.

You think it's odd that people were recording themselves at a protest? Did you pay attention to any of the recent protests, when people were livestreaming the event?

Grasping at straws now.

Yeah /pol/ figured that out aswell. Apparently the driver looked like a veteran who died in the helicopter crash just shortly after the incident. Pretty freaky.

I still want to know why it looks like the airbag did not deploy. On average, if you hit a parked car going over 15-20 they will deploy.

He was not going 40 unless the car was designed for this....

No, I said I am surprised there are not more videos and photos.

But, yeah..I do think it's suspicious in a crowd that small -- away from the actual protest (according to you) -- and people are turned and facing their cameras towards the car as if expecting violence there, but it's all counter-protestors.

...And one guy has a camera on a stick ready to capture what? People not at the protest??? AND a helmet on, too??? I don't see anyone else with helmets on. He was certainly prepared for what happened.

Because they show not what the narrative is right now. It is a horrible situation all around.

I looked up the 2010 Dodge Challenger SE user manual and it wasn't clear whether the airbag would deploy or not in a crash, like that. IIRC, it was a two-stage deployment type airbag and it wouldn't deploy on some significant crashes, at all, but it would on other *lesser speed* crashes, depending on several variables.

It was not a line of thought I felt I could resolve. Maybe you can?

Can you read what the badge says on the guy to the right of the flag and wearing the helmet and the red Nike shirt?

Ha...well I actually do think it looks like him.

That frown...the eyebrows.

He looks calm and cool though for someone who just smashed up his beloved Dodge Challenger, in a fit, and is going to prison.
