I'm curious.... how do folks from other parts of the world feel about Nazi's organizing and marching in the streets of America?

It's a sign of a healthy democracy. An unpleasant sign, but a sign nevertheless. If US citizens are to be free to express their political beliefs, then that has to apply to everyone, even an unpleasant minority like this rabble in Charlottesville. Simple as that.

My great-grandfather gave his life away fighting the Nazi's.

Would it be a sign of healthy expression for my to kick a self-proclaimed Nazi's teeth down their throat?

Or will the moral crusaders be along to insist that violence isn't okay, but preaching it is?

State of Emergency Declared

CVille has declared a local state of emergency and ordered the gathering to disband. As of now they have refused to do so.

"Peaceful protestors."
"No proof they are Nazi's"

The cult of #alternativefacts are proving to actually be quite dangerous.

The year 2017, where the precedent of self-identifying as a Nazi is a socially accepted (and defended) phenomena.

It's really interesting. People have been conditioned by right wing propaganda to the point they are taking up for Nazi's because they hate the other side so much.

No no, as a social justice warrior and moral crusader I can assure you that 99.9999% of the people on my side think it is absolutely always alright to kick nazi's teeth down their throats.

Do please continue. I will join you.

Isn't it often said on ATS that the Nazi party was socialist and more left-leaning in nature than being to the right?

I've personally seen in multiple times. So now we have the "alt-right," self-identifying as Nazi's.... who according to the alt-right, are socialist in nature.

So now we have far-right embracing socialism.... because of Nazism.

What a time to be alive.

Again- dont know what is missing in your head right now.

The very definition of a white power rally is that they are marching because they literally think they are better than everyone else. The organizer is a nazi. Like what more do you need? Nazis by definition are not peaceful, in intent or action.

What's with all the insults? I would really appreciate it if you talk to me like a normal person and without the hostility of course. Btw black people are currently trying to appropriate the culture of whites all over the world but nobody cares because it's racist to point that out.

I do not support racism of any kind.

I do not support the destruction of historical landmarks of any kind.

I do not support either side of the lunatics fighting over which is better.

What commies do you refer to? Vietnam? Not quite the same as Nazi members in 2017, guy.

Obviously, I did. You totally missed my point. People here of both races interact and accept the past. They don't march against each other's experiences and histories-there has been a quiet acceptance. Thus, my examples. Just move along.

Uh what does that mean? Far as I know the world developed with people of color when the "whites" were living in caves.

Silly there really are no races just a human evolutionary process and trading of information.

No, it was Korea, where the commies invaded South Korea.

to answer your question..I am in shock.
Husband is an American..we live in Scotland..but lived in US for a little when we were first married.
Never expected to see clashes on this scale in the US.
Peaceful protesters do not go equipped with helmets and shields...protesters who are ready for violence do.
These morons are fascists..plain and simple.
After so many wars...they wish to wave these flags ? Why would they do that...if they were not Nazis...and why are there Nazis in the US ?

Sick

Should have just hung all those deplorable Johnny Rebs after the war, maybe then we wouldn't have the racial issues we have today.

Wow just look at all that superiority, the epitome of human evolution.

What Im concerned about is belief that nazis have any say in public discourse.

Why shouldn't they? If commies and muslims get their say, why not nazis? If what they say is so dumb and offensive, then they will out themselves as fools, and allow us all to see who they really are. That's why I am so pro-Freedom of Speech, it allows us to see who the clowns are.

Remember... all totalitarian regimes have "do gooders" at their core.

Oh? Really?

Nazism. Hitler. Can't exactly describe him as a do gooder.

Peoples Republic Of Korea. They've had three not exactly do gooder leaders now.

Iraqi Republic. Saddam. Renowned for his doing of good?

Peoples Republic Of China. Was the cultural revolution an example of do-gooder-ey? I don't thinks o.

USSR. Stalin was never even remotely interested in doing good things. He just wanted power and absolute control.

Romanian Peoples Republic. Only if we count the buying of many many pairs of shoes as doing good.

All of the Islamic totalitarian regimes - Not even remotely interested in doing good.

Taliban. Famous for being do-gooders?

Fascist Italy. Mussolini wasn't a do-gooder.

So, I mean, I could continue. But where are these totaliterian regimes you think are founded on do-gooders?
