"Let me give you one bottom line as a former government official. Government is going to kill this guy," Mudd, a staunch critic of Trump, said on "The Lead."

The words from one Philip Mudd, former CIA, FBI and author on a CNN program.

Mudd, who served as deputy director to former FBI Director Robert Mueller, said Trump's defense of Russian President Vladimir Putin has compelled federal employees "at Langley, Foggy Bottom, CIA and State" to try to take Trump down.

Source

Is there any doubt left of the deep states existence and desire to take down Trump? Is there any doubt left as to why there is a constituency among Trump voters that knew and wanted separation of our government from the deep state?

The more threatened they become, the more they show their hand.

Yes. I have huge doubts about the existence of a deep state. How do you reconcile the belief of a shadowy all controlling entity with the reality of how incompetent our government is?

The left is totalitarian...

Socialism, communism and all their child ideologies such as progressivism have a natural conclusion of totalitarianism..

Because the ethos of social equality is anathema to our genes which subscribe to inherent morality and the social Darwinism written in our genes, the only way to control the progressivist utopia is to create despotic governments...

Trump, a man who follows social Darwinism, is a threat to the control of the totalitarian regimes which have slowly grown since the leftist Wilson began the march which was brought to fruition during the second new deal in 1933(after the original new deal programs had failed to meet constitutional scrutiny followed by fdr filling the courts, supreme included, with borderline communists)...

I don't know what to believe anymore other than the entrenched bureaucrats of DC are unabashedly anti-trump and are all too eager to use the leftist press to further their goals of totalitarian control...

Well that's a multifaceted question.

I'll start with funding. The common cliche` is follow the money. So, under the agenda the current administration proposes, who stands to lose the most of it, as in tax dollars and budget? Elected officials or programs integrated into the fabric of the patriot act, defense spending and security?

Its a spectrum thing . Just like dis-functionalism is .Sometimes all it takes is one bad actor in a family to cause it to go off the rails .

Incompetent by design. The "incompetence" is what gives the Deep State their power. Trillions of dollars wasted? Nope, that money goes places. Bad legislation being passed? Nope, it serves those with the money and power. Don't let the public perception of a bumbling government fool you, it's actually well-oiled, just not for service of The People.

Isn't Trump ramping up defense spending though? Which would without a doubt make the budgets of the intelligence agencies (who are supposed to be the ones behind this) larger.

My opinion on that is that he wanted to allocate more toward it while not increasing revenues toward it. Once he found out that was not an option, he stepped it back.

Is "The Deep State" what killed John F. Kennedy? I don't understand who/what comprises the "Deep State", or their goals.

Such a simple concept so many people cannot grasp for some reason.

If you were in charge, would you want change?

You can start here.

Basically the unelected body of government that makes large if not the largest decisions regarding the direction of the country. The black budget also falls into this category.

a reply to: Christosterone I knew the moment he got the election he would be fighting tooth and nail for survival. Have you seen the recent pics of Trump? He is suffering badly and it is effecting his health. I doubt, by one way or another, he will survive even this first 4 years. The deep state lives and neither Trump nor anyone else will threaten their power. So surprised Trump even ran; he had to have known this-or was his ego really this delusional?

Only thing worse than lefty tantrums are deep state tantrums when their bread and butter is threatened by an outsider.

That's when people end up face down and suicided.

Well put. And to add my two cents:

Has Trump accomplished anything yet that has been a threat to the deep state? NOPE. No need to set up a JFK job.

Quite the opposite actually.

Trump has provided the biggest sh1t-show distraction any elite scumbag could ask for. Love him or hate him, anytime you see a headline with Trump's name in it you pay attention. Every. Single. Time.

That's priceless for wealthy psychopaths with a lot to hide.
