The council has today confirmed that “strengthening works” – carried out on estates under government order across the UK following the deadly Ronan Point tower block collapse in Newham in 1968 – may never have happened on the Ledbury.

Following the Ronan Point collapse the installation of strengthening rods vertically, horizontally and around the circumference of similar towers was the main topic of conversation among expert structural engineers, according to John Knapton, the expert witness who advised Lloyds on the WTC insurance payout.

The paperwork exists claiming these strengthening works had been carried out on the Ledbury Towers. Presumably this means people got paid for work that we now find was never carried out.

This is exactly what I have seen with Stroud District Council. The paperwork gets filled out. They get paid. Lives are cynically put at risk.

The criminals in Stroud District Council are generally overweight, suntanned and smirking. They tend to drive expensive vehicles. In one case the wife of the man concerned appeared to be directing the criminal operation from the passenger seat.

In the case of the Ledbury Towers Cllr Stephanie Cryan tells us, "We didn’t own the blocks when they were constructed at the end of the 1960s . . . " They must have had an obligation to inspect the strengthening works. As I saw with Stroud District Council the various professionals work seamlessly together as a criminal network.

I expect it's the same where you live. The culture of corruption is coming to a head.

And devolution (privatization through the back door) has accelerated this rot in our local government, given the council's the ability to raise there own tax has given these council leaders an excuse for bigger salary's and made a mockery of what local government was supposed to be.

So this is not surprising, council's have always been corrupt but these day's thank's to the Tory's and New Labor policy's they are even worse, I am actually surprised that someone has owned up in this case.

Many of those council block buildings were built in a hurry using prefabricated blocks. Each apartment block was built like a plastic model using large concrete "blocks" that formed corners, walls, floors, all held together using steel hoops and pins within the concrete blocks. If one room were to have a gas explosion, it would collapse all the floors above. The only way to solve this is by adding reinforced beams all around.

Councillors don't want to dig deep to find out about this because it upsets their budget plans; either keeping property taxes down or spending programs to their core voters. Better to not know and leave it for their political rivals to deal with. That way they can pad out their time waiting to collect their pensions.
