Labour MP for Rotherham Sarah Champion said the public and authorities are failing to speak out against child abuse because they are scared of being branded racists.

Her comments come after a gang of 17 Asian men were convicted over their involvement in a sex abuse network... ...they were members of the Iraqi, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iranian and Turkish communities.

“We’ve got now hundreds of men, Pakistani men, who have been convicted of this crime – why are we not commissioning research to see what’s going on

Source

This is exactly why political correctness is bad for society. There is a massive and disproportionate problem with sex abuse in relation to Middle Eastern/African/Muslim communities throughout Europe, but everyone is afraid to speak out for fear of being called racist or bigoted. Preventing children (and adults) from being trafficked and raped and abused is far more important than what name someone might call you for it, and yet that is the very thing preventing law enforcement and governments from being honest about the situation.

The title is a bit misleading.

It's the informants who are reluctant, not the authorities.

Sadly, this is how things are now done.

God forbid you say anything, for you might offend the person who has come into your country (your home) and broken your laws. It just might hurt their feelings.

Diddums, god bless!

I think there's a typo there. It should read "Political correctness is the excuse used to prevent authorities from investigating sex abuse". Or are people supposed to forget the numerous unresolved cases that claimed to involve the royals, the church, and high ranked politicians? Are we to believe the fear of being called racist is what's stopping those cases?

For the record, child abuse & sex/rape abuse is horrific. I want all of the people involved to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I just think it's strange that they'd say it's political correctness that prevents cases involving immigrants, even though the article itself is about immigrants who were actually caught and arrested. In other words, the only cases that seem to actually be stopped in their tracks are the cases against the high level politicians and other powerful people, not the cases against immigrants.

There was a documentary on TV regarding that case and it distinctly pointed

out that the reason it took so long to get the case's to court or prosecutions

was that everytime a complaint was made, it was shelved due to ALL the

men accused being of certain ethnics and cultures and therefor racism might

come into it.

It was an excellent documentary worth watching on catchup!!......

In Europe you get labelled racist, it's more than a word.
It's your job (bye bye)
Your reputation (bye bye also)
Probably some type of charges over hate speech or incitement.
Do we seriously wonder why people aren't speaking up, especially if all they have are suspicions?

Its not the people. Indeed its the authorities from police, to judges and courts, committing the most ugly and evil crimes against humanity and claiming otherwise we're islamphobic or racist in general.

What have we allowed happen in our Country? England or Britain used to be one of the safest Countries to live but now you'd be hard pressed to find a Town or City to live safely. Since all the inventions of CCTV, the amount of crimes committed has gone up in percentage not down and child abuse/paedophilia/rape has gone up the most. Is it a surprise that most offenders are from 'Minority' groups? Whether they were born here or not doesn't come into it, they should be deported back to their Mothers Homeland which is mainly 'Pakistan'.

We got too many here now and we allowed this to happen.

I remember saying here on a couple of threads that the youth won't be liking our generation and those above 30 for not doing anything over the last 25 to 50 odd years to prevent this.

Local authorities and police forces do have a reluctance to investigate these grooming gangs and there is a nation wide trepidation towards reporting the relatively few instances that these 'gangs' have been brought to trial.

A couple of years ago former Home Secretary Jack Straw wrote that there is a disproportionate link between people from a specific demographic and crimes of this nature.
The PC Brigade rallied and he was publicly vilified despite there being overwhelming evidence to support him.
He has been further vindicated by events, facts and statistics that have been compiled since.

The authorities and police are so petrified of being labelled racist that there is a reluctance to even investigate such allegations let alone prosecute.

We can debate all day long why there is this uneven disposition towards the sexual grooming of young white girls within a certain section of our country but it will achieve nothing until the authorities, police and law abiding members of the demographic itself accept and acknowledge and take the necessary steps towards eliminating such practices.

But bear in mind - many in positions of authority, be it politicians, police, clergy, judiciary etc, also have a disproportionate inclination towards similar practices and may fear where thorough investigations into such things may lead?

And spare a thought for the poor girls who are being exploited and abused - nearly all from poor working class backgrounds or from local authority care in run down inner cities or industrial towns.
Has anyone ever asked exactly why these girls are so vulnerable and susceptible to these people?
Imagine the outcry if they were all from Middle-England??
