This is escalating at a worrying speed.

IF this is taken seriously and the Americans decide to take a preemptive strike then before you know it the entire Korean peninsular is going to be in flames.

Trump drew a line in the sand when he said any further threads would be met with fire and fury.

If this is taken as a threat the might feel like he has to act.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next few days.

Why in the Hell would North Korea nuke Guam, of all places?? I mean if you're going to commit suicide by superpower, at least go for biggest brass ring you can... A large ConUS city.

The real take-away from the DPRK's notification is this line by KCNA:

A spokesman for the Korean People's Army, in a statement carried by the North's state-run KCNA news agency, said the strike plan will be "put into practice in a multi-current and consecutive way any moment" once leader Kim Jong Un makes a decision.

It means Jong-Un has no clue really how to respond, will do nothing, and merely wants to chest thump by way of the state-run media.

That's simple, it's not mainland USA, but our military base there makes it JUST ENOUGH of USA to make the people in DPRK feel as though they attacked America.

Kim's advisors are saying this could happen at any time of his choosing. As in tomorrow if he says so. S#!t is real. The threat is real. We'll be going to war before Halloween at this rate.

If it can reach Guam, it can reach Anchorage, though it'd have to use a different missile.

Yes, Guam is militarily very important as a staging base, and if I were going to go to war on the Korean Peninsula against the US backed puppet regime I'd give real thought to hitting it, if at all possible. But Anchorage, too, has significant military installations located nearby...

Guam, ultimately, just pisses us off. Anchorage? The shock of that might, only might, accomplish more. Don't think it would, North Korea would die either way.

The midget knows this. He's playing a game of brinksmanship...he pushes, and pokes, and prods, but only to a point, then he backs away--all the while claiming victory. If the major powers would just ignore him, as much as they're able, this stupidity would die away.
