And this is the crux of the situation. The ones screaming the loudest about going to war won't be within 5,000 miles of the front lines. Just a bunch of armchair warriors in my opinion, doing nothing to help the problem, just sitting back and enjoying everyone else but themselves dying.

I think the ones screaming the loudest have offices in Switzerland.

Trump should call a summit

The Russians, Chinese, The US, North Koreans, South Koreans, the Japanese heads of state and foreign ministers should stay in a room until this is settled

If it works Trump might be considered for a Nobel peace prize

We could honestly be proud of Trump about something.

Not heard of the Six-Party-Talks.

I didn't work.

I agree with you.

I will just add that I don't envy anyone that is in this position; where they may have to make a decision that they know will lead to many people dying.

You have to try. It’s too much at stake. I know it’s a risk but something’s got to be done, were talking about nuclear weapons

You forgot
"The likes of which the world has never seen."

Is he threatening nukes? Is that moron actually threatening to use nukes?

Because he's in a pissing contest with a crazy person???

No a nice little sniper will do just fine I think.
Trump pull yourself together dude.

Yeah, that won't start a war now will it.

Would that be an asian sniper or a western sniper?

But since I just hate Trump, I cant help myself

You would think issues like this make wanting to go on twitter and have troll wars obsolete....

But I don't get what people want Trump to do?

I don't think it's what he should do, but more what he shouldn't have done...box himself into a corner.

Should he pass this situation to the next administration and do nothing as past administrations have done?

Probably, as they are somewhat insignificant.

If he does that, there is a good chance that Japan will decide to arm, which may escalate tensions in the entire region.
And 8 years from now, NK will have even better weapons and will be more aggressive.

True. They may, but let's hope they're also ready to deal with the aftermath. Japan doesn't want a theater on their shores rightly so. I don't find the threat of nuclear conflict nearly as daunting as what a conventional conflict would entail on the peninsula.

Should he have said nothing, and just attacked NK?

Yes.

It seems many on here have a problem with Trumps "big mouth". So would you rather he just bomb NK rather than saber rattle?

He's a buffoon, but still yes.

Should he just sanction NK or China.

No - No.

It seems obvious NK sanctions have no effect. And sanctions on China could not on;y do nothing to help this situation, but create a whole new set of economic problems and raise hostilities with China.

Right. NK knows full well we will be more concerned with the humanitarian crisis in planning than in actually stopping him. One can argue either way for the moral highground on that, but he wouldn't be wrong by making that assumption.

I feel like many of the people criticizing Trump over this have no idea what they would like to see him do; they just no they will blame him for any bad outcome.

Completely false. I criticize him regularly yet I know precisely the action I would authorize and stick by it.

If he tries only diplomacy and being very nice to NK, and in the future they attack someone, he will be faulted. If he is aggressive and it results in bloodshed, he will be faulted.

He shouldn't waste his time.

I agree with you but the talks started back in the early 2000's and they had never worked.

Fair enough.

Are you saying that he should have preemptively struck NK, or did nothing?

WE didnt elect the leader of NK. Are you really serious using that argument?

No, but we did elect a man who promised to crack down on NK.

Perhaps the North Koreans should replace their leader with someone who promises to stop provoking the US?

I see you dont fully grasp North Korean politics.......

didn't he say something like "if we've got them why not use them" during the campaign?? he's an idiot.

Your reaction leads me to believe if (he) the President 'uses' them, you'll whine. And if he (the President) does not, you'll call into question his manhood.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't is what got the world into the fix it's in. Thanks for helping.

(/sarcasm)

Trump should let NK nuke the west coast in a first strike.

Take out san fran, L.A. seattle and portland and the 9th circuit court.

Then we'll see who left to scream about Trump not doing anything.

So if one of these twats starts a nuke war , is no one worried about all the crap that will be released into the atmosphere? Which will travel all over the globe radiating every one? Are these people nutters? Thinking about nuking people? guess it does not matter to them as they will be safe in their dumbs. Whilst the rest of us suffer. I mean look at the oceans after Fukishima ELE and no one seems to care. Madness is all I have to say. I thought Trump was anti war and wasting billions on military incursions. Guess he is just like the rest of the political machine just a bunch of two faced lying A**holes.
