Republican Christians are so obsessed with a physical city and its role in the end of human history according to their belief system that they don't mind one bit that a couple of Zionist Jews put religious words in the party platform.

Woops- Now your true skirt is showing mate. Which religion are you talking about that has Christian Republicans and Christian Democrats? You say that Christians Republicans love Zionist Jews and Christian Democrats do not love Zionists Jews?

You have embarrassed yourself mate.
The following is the excerpt from the 2016 Democratic Platform -- You are free to google this and learn something.

Jewish state with recognized borders and provides the Palestinians with independence, sovereignty, and dignity. While Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations, it should remain the capital of Israel, an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths. Israelis deserve security, recognition, and a normal life free from terror and incitement. Palestinians should be free to govern themselves in their own viable state, in peace and dignity.

American Christianity.

You say that Christians Republicans love Zionist Jews and Christian Democrats do not love Zionists Jews?

It get's rather complicated. As far as I know, the U.S. has never had laws that discriminated against Jews. They were never legally discriminated against or forced to live in ghettos. Compare to Europe Jewish Emancipation

During the U.S. Civil rights era 1960s, much of racist Democratic politics switched to Republican. The Democrats became more inclusive and the Republicans less inclusive. (The shock that so many Jews accidently voted for Pat Buchanan in Florida in 2000 because of ballot format!)

So non-scientifically speaking, the Left Christians accept Jews because Jews are people. The Right Christians like Jews only if they are Zionist, as a means to bring on their view of Eschatology, wholly centered around Jerusalem.

A word on Zionism: During the European Emancipation and Jewish Enlightenment years, many Jews fully integrated so as to not even identify themselves as Jewish. This alarmed the racist(nationalist) Jews. They invented Zionism as a mechanism to keep Jewish racism alive. Zionism was a very small minority within European Jewry.

After WWII, Zionism became mainstreamed. Zionism is now the majority view among Jews. The propaganda is and has been for many decades that a non-Zionist Jew is a self-loathing Jew. That's not true. It's propaganda. And very effective propaganda in America. Expect more Jews to switch to Republican.

The U.S. political thinking has been warped by the propaganda too. Many Democratic politicians think that to be pro-Jewish (as people) is to support Zionism. They have fallen to the propaganda too.

But this is Religious Conspiracy. The Democrats have two-state solution for peace in their platform, because Palestinians subjected to Nakba are as human as Jews subjected to holocaust. Republicans have a one state solution, because Palestinians (even Christian Palestinians) have no place in the well-nigh official Republican distortion of Christianity.

I had a Great Grand Father with a suspiciously Jewish sounding name. He boarded a ship in the Netherlands and sailed away. The evidence exists that he took full advantage of Emancipation, by becoming American, and that's why I am American, not Jewish.

As the son of an immigrant to the USA; I still look with raptured wonder at this mystical mosaic of a land with so many different cultures. How do we get it together? Indian people shopping at Pakistani stores (despite 4 wars over Kashmir Province); we're in America, it's ok. Korean & Japanese people can converse politely on the street without bloodshed. Irish folks can give a friendly and meant wave to their British neighbors. Latino gentlemen stop in their tracks; when a lady on any color stumbles on the bus, almost hitting the floor...they are there to reach out their hands to upright her. America finished? Hell! We've only just begun. Peace
