I know many people here on ATS reside in the United States. Some of us support the gov't, some of us don't. My position on government is this.
We live in an age of technology and science. Science, natrally, is used by the government to create military and healthcare technologies, that it
in turn for taxes, supplies to the people. Hospitols, dentistries, orthopedistes, and the military as an agent of security.
The military is the most important of all, cos without it, the other agencies wouldn't be possible in the first place. The soldiers protect our
nation, and to do that successfully they need top of the line technology and healthcare. However in todays army there is an element lacking not only
there, but in the rest of America. Honor. Many of todays soldiers are well educated, yes, but they do not hold the status of soldier in high regard as
it once was in other states. Being a soldier is something to be proud of, but many people dislike the army, and with good reason. The military hides
things, not only from the people, but even from the soldiers themselves. There is much corruption. Too much. When we here about it from a solid
source, that source is cast down as antiamerican, unpatriotic, or with sympathy to our enemies, and in turn, because of this propagandizing on mass
media, the people belive it too, cos the soulless bastards on tv must be right.
What secrets does our government keep from us, and why must it be hidden? We know there are ufos. We have seen them, and recorded them, and
probably even have talked to and met with a few. But the government makes up excuses, that it was an odd mixture of swamp gas and light, in the middle
of a desert. Or weather ballons, while the crash site was zoned off, and people who knew about it were sworn to silence. Is the weather industry
afraid of embarresmant, or is there something more to the story?
And then there is the moon. What good reason is there for us to have not gone back. NASA says we know all we could know about the moon, yet we
only have a small amount of space rocks, from too small of reigions to gather any conclusive or important data that we do not already know.
More recently, the war in Iraq. I'm not saying there aren't any WMDs. But so far, we haven't seen any. The type of person Saddam was, why didn't
he use them? Why haven't defectees told us the locations? If there was so many of it, how could he have pawned them over to Syria or Iran or Saudi
Arabia? We don't know the answer to the questions, but the gov't asked the media to tell the people that was why we were going to war, and since it
came from tv, it must be true.
I see the current government as inefficient, and ineffective. We all toil with no purpose other than to chase the dollar, and for what? Conformity
and capitolist wastes? What happens when you and your group od friends at work at school, or wherever else, see a person different from you? That
doesn't dress the way you do, or likes a different type of music? Then, in most cases like at school, a goth is labeled a freak, a smart person or a
popular person a prep, a secretive person a suicidal, or the athletic person a jock. Assumptions made by differnce, based on ignorance, that is what
our people have been dumbed down to.
The education system is crap, we all know it. The stuff we are told in schools is little more than stuff to lock up and fill the 10 % of our brains
that we're ever going to use. We don't look for anything more than a good paying job to get ther latest music or clothes. In school, we don't learn
much about other countries, and we don't learn much about our true history. We, in most schools, have six languages to choose from.
French, Spanish, German, Latin, Italian, and Chinese.
What about Russian, or Japanese, or Hongul, or Portugese, or Slavic, and a number of other important languages that could get you a decent gov't job.
Since does our freedom require us to sign up for seletive service at 18? To fight a war that we won't want. Where is our voice in government? Surely
not in the small selection of people we have to vote for, people who usually ride their fathers name, or bribe and blackmail to get into the position
they're in?
Change is needed. A revolution in the way things our done. A revolution of truth, to hide no longer the secrets our government holds. A revolution
doesn't have to be a war, but in todays world you odn't get heard easily any other way. We as Americans, must expose the lies, using our
Constituional Freedoms. And when they are taken from us, then we take up our weapons and fight. How can you call the Patriots a Terrorist? How is
trying to eradicate corruption and conspiracy terrorism? Since when does looking out for the good of the people make you an enemy combatant?
I'd like to know your opinions on my position on the government as well as your own. Thank you, and goodnight.
