I don't see how anyone can say that they are for freedom when they want a larger more controlling government, higher taxes, more laws and a restriction on gun rights, free speech rights.

Me, I want a government I don't even know is there nearly all of the time. Just stay out of the way unless they are needed, which is not too often.

I don't want to be part of either Party and be painted inside of a box. Both sides have gone utterly mad. We need for the adults to step up to the plate and run things and send the whining, sniveling little brats who lead us now home, so they can spend their days irritating their neighbors.

But then since those who could do a good job are running companies, rational and not interested in politics, it's not going to happen.

On topic though, I admit ANTIFA and what they claim to be is a remarkable bit of irony.

Well this has been a useless discussion...

To inflame the faithful... I've a question ...

If you are anti - Anti-fascist does that make you a fascist?

Then on to anarchy - and the delusions of anarchists (and I do get some of the reasoning to be sure) particularly of the 'libertarian' want-to-be subgrouping of anarchists (IMO co-opted by big business interests - read high tech firms) and move on to the holy grail of 'private property'....

But the libertarian version is:

Libertarians, anarchist-lights can't get their mind around this simple property concept - neither can liberals...

A simple exposition on the subject;

"It's literally impossible to be a liberal and a facist, just google it if you don't believe me"

- Lefty

and this is just one reason why xuenchen, and the right-wing, sound so ridiculous. trump sounds like this.....abut half what he says, is the exact opposite of what is a actually happening, or has happened.
find some blog somewhere, anywhere, from anyone, that says the left are fascists, and it is used as a fact-based website and/or author, and every right-winger here automatically agrees and has to add in their own 2 cents of BS.....maybe they are a couple of low-paid Russians, that come onto websites like ATS and just talk crap......how's that for a conspirecy

Sorry jimmy, not a very good one.. how about YOU prove you're not a $hill and say something with substance for once?

btw, did you completely miss Painterz post?

I read it, great points made.....apparently, your under the impression that I have to prove something to you to have an opinion about the OP. maybe if you looked at the hundreds of posts by xuenchen, and compared them to something OTHER than right-wing ATS rhetoric, you might get my drift. having done deep dives on right-wing cited references for the first few years being here to see if they hold up, I no longer bother.

Quite often the "reign of terror" follows closely on the heels of "the revolution."

But like I stated, anarchist and even communist for that matter want to abolish governments, the state, and monetary systems, class etc. so in the context of this "Leftest are fascists" or "Antifa are the real fascist" that statement is false

anarchism abolishes private property, of course, there are different thoughts on the subject, depending on who you read. Kropotkin who was a theorist on anarchist-communism would say private property is theft and it should be communal, someone like Stirner would say that property is a spook, it is mine, everything is mine, just as it is yours.

Yeah, we've all seen how well leftists and communism works.

Thank you , no.

I will remain opposed and be a supporter of freedom.

Where has there been communism and actual communism where the state has been abolished? Nowhere... Russia, China, Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, none of them were actual 'communist' because they had the state in place, at best they were State-socialist, which is a completely different thing than communism

Socialism and communism are different, State-Socialism has been tried many places, and it not only fails but should equally be opposed as capitalism

And you still strive for a utopia then that has never existed on the face of the earth.

There are those in academia who believe society arose from the desire of private property...

For decades, scientists have believed our ancestors took up farming some 12,000 years ago because it was a more efficient way of getting food. But a growing body of research suggests that wasn't the case at all.

"We know that the first farmers were shorter, they were more prone to disease than the hunter-gatherers," says Samuel Bowles, the director of the Behavioral Sciences Program at the Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico, describing recent archaeological research.

Bowles' own work has found that the earliest farmers expended way more calories in growing food than they did in hunting and gathering it. "When you add it all up, it was not a bargain," says Bowles.

So why farm? Bowles lays out his theory in a new study in the journalProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The reasons are complex, but they revolve around the concept of private property.

www.npr.org...

This theory seems to partially negate the entire notion of a social contract. Social contracts were for the tribal hunter gatherers. Civilization as we know it very well could be based upon the greedy pinings of private property. If this is the case it really is difficult to align the concept of a social contract with the idea of private property as a lynchpin for the advent of civilization as we know it. That kind of shoots down almost every form of government as natural besides capitalism.

Neat.

The "true communism/socialism has never been tried" refrain is an utterly predictable, and sad, rebuttal any time somebody says that one or the other has never worked.

So yes, they are different concepts. The phrase, however, is the same either way.

We do have places like the Congo that show us the results of a society without government. Someone or some group will always take over and without government or the rule of law, the thugs rule the day. You can't remove human nature from the equation with a straight face.

Sociopaths make up about 3% or so of the population as I recall.

There are many ways in which anarchism and communism don't intersect, that can be a different topic, as my anarchy is black.

but as far as "Utopian", isn't it Utopian to believe that "representative democracy" will represent everyone? that electing a single person to control and dictate how your life is run is "freedom"?

So leftists don't want a larger government, don't want higher taxes, want more freedoms, more freedoms for gun rights, and fewer laws?

Wow!

Who the #### knew that leftists were for that!

I am blown away!
