Looks like a big business merger is in the works that could put CNN "up for sale" (as if they already aren't "bought off").

AT&T is getting in deep with a merger that includes Time-Warner assets.

The article is "interesting".

The Big International Media/Banker/Corporate/Government/PR-Advertising complex marches on !

AT&T Mulling Sell-Off Of Major Assets Under Turner After Time Warner Merger

There are rumblings at the highest executive levels that AT&T’s top executives are considering divesting some Time Warner assets — including news organization CNN and celebrity gossip site TMZ — after they merge.

AT&T expects the Justice Department to approve its $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner, and for the deal to close, by year end. The telco has already named longtime exec John Stankey to be CEO of AT&T’s media properties. He’s leading the Time Warner Merger Integration Planning Team, working with Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes.

CBS has long had its eye on CNN. The broadcast company’s CEO, Les Moonves, said at Herb Allen’s Sun Valley retreat last month that he would be interested if the cable news network became available. Neither CBS or AT&T would comment.

For TMZ, Deadline was told that AT&T is considering a sale to a private equity company. “They don’t want any controversy,” one source with knowledge of AT&T’s intentions says, adding that the communications giant may also be looking to sell other properties under Turner.

One of the other 5 huge corps that control almost all we see, hear or read will have to snatch CNN up.

Maybe the Trump empire can buy CNN and change the name to TNN. Shouldn't cost much, considering that CNN is nothing more than an Anti-America tabloid at this point.

That would be HUGE !!

I bet it's possible.

The first 6 months could show special reports about all the BS from the "previous" owners.

Right..Another WIN for Trump and America! Trump News Network has a nice ring to it.

With Dish and Internet Streaming, CABLE News Network sounds so "yesterday".

I noticed a bit in a wikipedia age about that merger. The merger is the Big Story. I havent seen it mentioned around here. It would leave only 4 megaconglomerates controlling all the media (tv, film, music, print, etc).

Look at all those baby Bells merge back into the illegal monopoly that was dismantled with antitrust laws, like an octopus dealt an almost lethal blow then comes back to life.

If there is anything that has the power to destroy CNN, it is the AT&T monster.

The Trump organization is probably the buyer. It's the only way he's going to control the "fake news media" and CNN from attacking him.

AT&T has long been considering dropping Zucker and a complete redo of CNN , . Thats probably the reason CNN is (and has) putting out there anything they want. Getting close to their last day on the job . And as is said , "you can do anything you like on your last day"
"Writing on the wall" ?

Since I see you chime into neutral threads and try and negate them with the constant "anonymous source" followed by a tisk Tisk....

I feel it fitting to point out the beginning of your quote.

For may of us, we find interest in a story, not an angle..

But isn't it amazing what people will subscribe to if it fits their ideology?

Food for thought, I hope you're hungry.

They should re-brand it the Collusion News Network.

Your 24 hour news station on the Russian "six degrees of separation" narrative.

Trump cannot afford to buy CNN. Or do you think the Russians are willing to give him that much.

True. The Russians probably won't give Trump as much as they gave the Clintons.

Oops: The New York Times Accidentally Exposed 'The Hillary Clinton-Russia Nexus'

What's more, at least some of these donations weren't disclosed. "Ian Telfer, the head of the Russian government's uranium company, Uranium One, made four foreign donations totaling $2.35 million to the Clinton Foundation.

I'm sure Trump has the 50 cents necessary for the purchase lying around somewhere.
