China to build coal power plant with green money

Apparently China is using green energy funds to build 2 coal power plants.
These will burn cleaner than normal ones so that must make it green.

"SHANGHAI, Aug 4 (Reuters) - A power producer in the city of Tianjin has issued "green bonds" worth 1 billion yuan ($150 million) to finance a 2,000-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant, a move slammed by an environmental group for diverting funds from cleaner projects."


"The 'clean' in clean coal is a relative term. Technology such as ultra-low emissions, albeit producing less air pollutants, is not a solution to lowering the carbon emissions that endanger our climate," said Huang Wei, a climate and energy campaigner with Greenpeace East Asia in Beijing."

I think the Chinese government knows that you can't burn unicorn farts to make electricity when the sun don't shine and the wind don't blow.

All you need to do is label it green.

They probably didnt even read the damn accord.
They knew they wouldnt follow the agreement anyway.

The U.S. should request all that money Obama gave them before walking out the door.

That's just what they need. More smog.

Yes like you said. All they have to do is label it that.

I'm not sure the details of my work. If they took a tax break or were forced to but they added two recycle bins to my plaza but the thing is. That trash is thrown in the same place the rest of it is anyway. False advertising.

pretty much, modern plants are much cleaner than the old ones.
