We assume that all the underground tunnels have been EMP attack proof for years...but there is still the need for a president & staff to be able to excape, & not to just Camp David or the Mountain in West Virginia... they likely need secure access to the private Subway which is very nearby the public underground system... the 17 day work fallout would have been too much for the Trump entourage to endure/hear/sense/feel

Or...... Or its a super old building that because of its age and near constant occupancy is difficult to maintain? I really don't think this is any sort of smoke screen.

well the white house is a 250 year old piece of crap building but being without A/C is hardly a reason to abandon the building for 17 days. some people in America have no A/C ever so 17 days without A/C doesn`t seem like a hard ship to me.
why did they wait until august to replace a 27 year old A/C system? I guess for the same reason the states wait until august to close and replace a road that is the main road to a resort area, money!

contractor: ok, we can do it but only in august
state: but that`s the busiest tourist time for this road
contractor: ok, well we can finish it in 3 weeks for a substancial monetary bonus.
state: ok, we`ll pay whatever it costs.

I guess 6 months ago the government didn`t realize the 27 year old system needed to be replace even though im sure that they pay HVAC inspectors to check the hvac systems all the time.

sounds to me like a contractor delayed the job until a critical moment so that they could reap huge profits from the taxpayers.

I wouldn't trust this if my life depended on it. Trump better be careful, with all the animosity there, I would be watching back.
