There were just people from a women almost only movie, from women for women basically. And in a drive bye they redefined "independent" into "women only".
Really? Is she speaking for all Brits? Or you? You know what independent means, right?

On the other hand there are Disney films that have only animals in them and boring 'explosions and shooting' men's films where everyone important is a man and the only women in there are for eye candy purposes only. Possibly naked or big breasts. Which could also be annoying if I cared, which I don't.

I absolutely detest the women Ghostbuster disaster and want to eliminate it form the world if I could as it is unnecessary and not funny.

A quote would have been enough. We need to know what was said, exactly, in what context, so that we can see if there is any reason in your rant.
If the comment was, for example, "this is a film about a group of independent women", that would not amount to re-defining the word.

Or, again, "independent" could mean "a film not made by one of the big film companies". You see? We need context.

If it is about a group of women with women's problems, I can't see your anger. Would you want a man in there just as a token?
I mean the series 'Roots' was full of black people, because that's what it was about.
So a film about women with problems...I would totally expect to find just women in there.
And independent in Britain is read as 'not by hollywood', you know, by a smaller film company.
You also don't have to watch it. I know I wouldn't because it sounds boring [I prefer horror films] but anger?

The men killing men with women as eye-candy are guy movies. They don't like seeing women getting hurt, just pure violence. Movies like Waterworld.

I am not sure what this thread is about, but in the distance I can hear "Waaaaa! Waaaaa! Waaaaa!" It's a damned movie.
