many republicans still won't be happy because it will still be called ahca that was enacted by a black man, most trump supporters won't be happy because it will still be called ahca that was enacted by a black man.

affordable health care act but look signed off by a white guy (ahcablsobawg) dosent exactly trip off the tounge but would appease the far right.

I just can't see any government committee getting something done in 3 weeks..or even 3 months.

Especially if it has to do with benefiting the plebes, ermm um, constituents.

And, because Congress is so easily distracted, any number of problems could cause Congress to seize-up. But at least the Republicans on the committee won't be scared into wimp-mode by the MSM. Liberal Media should be rooting for success.

Bottom line is that they won't address the problem...being they are a large part of it. Also, subsidizing medical and insurance industries has led us to this point. It's crony capitalism.

To me it's a long fight to figure out who and how those corporations will remain funded.

I thought Trump already said that unless they find a way to Repeal it that there would be no vacation for them.

If there is no vacation then there can be no coming back from vacation.

If there is no coming back from vacation there can be no bipartisan committee made to fix Obamacare.

Sort of a catch-22 IMO.

President Trump ASKED Congress to not take a vacation until HealthCare Repeal/Replace/Fix is completed. Mitch McConnell went with a 2 week vacation delay instead. I don't think the President can cancel their vacation, unless there's a national emergency...and maybe not even then.

If it were up to President Trump, Congress would sleep 4 hours a night, and work 6 days a week for most of the year, like he has done for the last 40 years.

Good point, Growler. I started a thread on that subject 6 months ago. A Congressional Republican said that he didn't want the Affordable Care Act to continue because it is nicknamed "ObamaCare". He didn't like Obama at all. Otherwise, he was pretty much OK with the ACA itself.

Interestingly, the legislature in LIBERAL NEW HAMPSHIRE voted today to let their state's ObamaCare exchange crash and burn, rather than give the health insurance companies what they were asking for, to keep them in the state's market.

Sure. Minus of course all the time he spends golfing, watching TV or going around self promoting his name and just being a big shot for the cameras.

The rest of the time he's working.

Depending upon how you define "work" of course.

The most accepted method to define if a person has been "working" is by success and achievements.

Here's a list of President Trump's achievements in just 6 months.

Incredible isn't it? More done than any prior President...and facing the stiffest headwinds from Dems and MSM to boot.

It's our U.S. Congress that's inefficient vacation-lovers, without drive or vision.

Or we could take a look at his massive failures too which far outweigh what thegatewaypundit considers successes.

Or we could simply take for example the difference between the way or reason behind a persons Wealth which is also considered a way to measure someone's success.

Trump as we know is a very Wealthy person which one typically views as being a sign of success, correct??

Yet another way to see it is that there are two kinds of Wealth. One is from Wealth from someone who Creates Wealth. Think of Steve Jobs perhaps or Bill Gates. They created their massive Wealth by creating a new product and industry.

The other is Wealth from someone who simply extracts the wealth of others who have worked to earn it. Trump is an example of this as a Landowner collecting Rent from property. Or collecting interest payments or other forms of "Unearned Income". These people are not creating wealth at all but simply extracting wealth that is already there that has been created by others by working.

You can measure work in a variety of ways some of which have more merit than others.

It's surprising that Republican voters seem to be so relaxed, after being lied to so frequently by Republican leaders these past 8 years. Maybe when this committee adds a few more billion dollars in taxes, in order to "shore up" ObamaCare, there will be a more visible reaction.

Your example is more descriptive of an employee. But I won't debate it here. Not the thread 4 that.

No, it's not at all actually. It has nothing to do with employees at all. I was giving examples between the difference of Wealth Creation and Wealth Extraction.

It has nothing to do with employees at all. Landowners collecting rent and on a more general level, those who make their money by things such as Rent collection, Capital Gains, Interest, etc. also known as "Unearned Income" are Wealth Extractors not Wealth Creators who are people who actually create new things and generate new wealth.

Nothing to do with employees.

Congress already APPROVED a bill for Obamacare Repeal and Replace.

So there is a baseline.

Problem is the SENATE and some Republicans there who did not want to endorse it.

Execute that bill, or push the whole topic of health-care back to states. Simple as that.

You would rather we go out in the streets, don black masks and through rocks and firebombs through windows?

The time to express anger is at the ballot box and through the phone lines and email boxes. Other than that, we have families to support. Gotta go to work ... of course, this is my week off this month.

How do you think people who have land to rent got that land in the first place? What about investors?

We are investors here. We started with nothing, but my husband has a 401(K) now. That makes us investors. Traditionally, people who saved for their retirement used accounts that accrued this thing called "interest" where their saved money built up interest over time.

All these things were done so that when they got too old to work and earn more income, they could use the fruits of their investments (capital gains) and savings (interest) and even sometimes if they were savvy rents from property they have invested in to support themselves so the society did not have to.

But, of course, now you are saying it's evil for folks to want to support themselves in retirement? Because that's what you want to do and what will happen, any laws that get passed in your zeal to "soak the undeserving rich" will also hit those who did their best to retire the proper way because they rely on those forms of post-retirement income for self-support because they can't work anymore.

The "ballot box" doesn't occur until November 2018. Meanwhile, even the MSM is in shock over how much everyone's premium will increase on 1.1.2018.

www.foxnews.com...

Just got word that we're getting a 38% increase here in Illinois. This bi-partisan commission had better work FAST.
