Since the article said the driver acted disoriented and tried to get back in the van, I am guessing we're looking at drunk or drugs.

White vans are the generic transport vans of choice. There is an old mall parking lot just north of my house that has fleets of them fenced in on their way to being sold or their new owners or something.

They get used for surveillance and other such purposes, etc. Just Google unmarked white van and you'll see why that comment popped up.

I know. That's why I stated that this may not be the case in this situation.

Being drunk or on drugs does not mean that a drunk or drugged driver isn't looking at their phone.

At least nobody brought Muslims into this thread.

White vans being an evil presence in our communities isn't a new thing.
Before the Internet, rumors of white vans kidnapping kids spread throughout our then shared area of the country.
One teenage girl in our community was so scared that while she was babysitting and the kids thought they saw a white van go by, proceeded to get their SHOTGUN to defend against the white van people.

She shot the 8year old boy in the leg, he lost it.

She became known as shotgun patty for the rest of her life.

And I'm guessing disoriented from being in a car crash.

Probably in shock and was injured.

Well at least no ATSers made stupid jokes about racism or Muslims in regards to people getting hurt... oh. As if an addict is any less malicious... at some point a sober person decided to intoxicate themselves knowing they had keys to a vehicle.

And thats why they pushing for driverless cars .

wow i was a few blocks away today when this happened. Saw the emergency services and took a detour but we were wonder what had appened.

Strangely i watched last year a white city worker van at 10am clip a car at 50mph loose control hop the curb and plow right into u-zen Sushis front door and smash the sushi counter/bar. Restaurant was out of business for several months cause the van took out one of the supporting pillars holding up the roof. Crazy white vans.
