A lot of folks are upset about the President's ban on transgender people serving in the military. Well, instead of just whining and fussing about it, here's a challenge that could make a difference:

What if every person who is opposed to the ban joined the military in protest. That's all you'd have to do. Join any branch of the service, go through the basic training regimen, then let your voice be heard.

Yeah, that's right! Instead of just fussing because you feel like it's wrong, go do something about it. Sign up! Become a soldier, an sailor. Be an example. Join the Air Force or the Marines. Then once you've been through the ringer, your opinion would count for so much more.

Let me know when you sign up so that I can give you an ATTABOY. (or ATTAGAL, or ATTA-WHATEVER-THE-CASE-MAY-BE.)

No, that was a joke, but I'm serious. Do it. DO IT!!!!!

But that means they would have to go out into the real world and not hide behind a glass screen! They would never survive...

I joined the military in the early 80's. My father served in the Army during the Korean war/conflict. He told me before I went to boot camp, "Stay strong, the Drill sergeants job is to mentally break you and make you quit.". My pops was spot on. That's exactly what my DS did. I watched people wash out every day, because they couldn't deal with the mental "abuse" (it wasn't abuse but had to call it something] so they walked away.

It would be intellectually dishonest to not respect the reason basic training is so brutal to a young man such as myself at that time who 2 weeks out of high school got shipped out to be put thru what some people may say was horrible. Yet what is war? If a DS can make me cry because he is telling me my GF is screwing Jody, while I am gone, how will I react in a war situation when I see one of my brothers get his head blown off? PC got so bad that many of the cadence chats we used to say on our marches are now forbidden! Anyone remember "Tiny bubbles", "I don't know but I've been told"?

The military isn't a Social Experiment, it is to train warriors. They sure as hell didn't care about my feelings during basic training, and there is a reason for that, Period.

What about all the soldiers that not only made it past basic training but were deployed into combat that just so happen to be Trans? Obviously they made it through the grueling vetting process.

As long as they are not demanding special treatment and forcing our troops to sit thru BS courses to understand them? Don't care. But that isn't what's happening is it? To be honest, they didn't give a snip about my feelings after Basic Training either.

False, and false. Unless you have an issue with facts anyway.

Perhaps you were trying to be funny.

You have it backwards.

When you join, you lose your right to have an opinion. Your voice counts for so much more as a member of the public.

Just let your congressmen and senators know.

Sensitivity courses are not a new thing to the military. Cultural sensitivity courses before deployment go back as far WWII.

Nope! Never had to sit thru one! But you are being dishonest and referring to those in the military going overseas to another country. Yea, I got your game.

my husband's in the military. he's 100% fine with serving with transgendered troops, and with the military covering their medical expenses. as he said when i asked his opinion, they cover viagra, lap-band surgery and boob jobs so it doesn't make sense to draw the line there.

Very few people seem to get that part of the deal, this seems like an unusual kind of recruitment drive, that is deceptively effective.

Without a name an idea doesnt exist.....there is no such thing as gay or homosexual or lesbian or transgender....these are words cut and pasted upon "ideas" people who comprise small special interest groups try to manifest or create so they may fiscalise the dynamic to ensure their survival growth and spread. This is basiclly BS....a con-job......and MANY of the Global Elite benefit immensly from the societal dischord these small special interest groups generate by proxy...hence the immense "hidden" financial and impact support given anonymously to these groups....from community manipulation to sympathetic civil and criminal court decisions bought and paid for by TPTB.

These contrived words and names and the support given to them are a component of a long running covert attack on the nuclear Family and the societal structure and integrity which support such.

Gender is a birth fact......Gender identification is a wordplay and a choice only if your society has been undermined enough to accept machined manifested names attatched tacticlly to words with an ultimate goal of societal dischord.

Choosing to pursue your life freely and choosing what gender you do this with.....is NATURAL/NORMAL......no matter what you wish to do........you dont get to make up names and cause societal dischord to live your own life.......you dont get to form your own little "club".....lol.....Rex Bear says six publishers worked together to write the Bible people now support.....these groups who owned and controlled those Publishing Companies are members of the Global Elite we call TPTB and the Illuminatti........

One day soon these words and names will be disenfranchised.

Youre right that it doesnt make sense to draw the line there, the line should be moved waaaaaay back so that it doesnt cover ANY cosmetic or permanently mutilating procedures.

People shouldnt join the army because they want bits of themselves made bigger or taken off, they should join because they want to serve their country.
Any other reason for joining and you do not belong there, simple

Ummm...precisely...I had this # eating grin that My Drill tried to knock off my face...I did so many pushups because of it that I had to change my uniform size twice...After my Drill realized he was just making a muscular # eating grin...he appointed me assistant drill...In basic training...

I remember him telling me once to drop and give him 300...I did it...I squeaked out 300 pushups and came to attention with that ever present # eating grin still on my mug...

I didn't hate the man...nor did I hate the process...I loved both...That combination of "In your face" and attempting to break character...I accepted as a personal challenge each and every day...I tried my best to outdo...myself...

That's why I still wear that # eating grin to this day...that irreverent smirk guides my posting style...everything as affectation...

I'll always remember "The mighty Wolf pack" and that summer of 1984...I'll always be grateful for that opportunity to hone self...

Like you...I watched allot of characters be broken and washed out...some of us on the other hand...washed up...came out the other side men...came out the other side grateful for the experience...

"Wolf pa a a a ack...don't you be messing with the ole Wolf pack...
Always at the front cause we cut you no slack
So Don't you be messing with the Ole Wolf Pack
Wolf Pa a a a ack"

...to character......

Well first, I'm a veteran. Second, I was deployed and blew out my ACL in Iraq; as such I cannot run very well anymore. Third, Eff military culture; I enjoy my independence and not having a superior making sure I'm living my private life appropriately. Fourth, joining the military is the last way to get your voice heard; the entire system is setup to squelch dissent by making soldiers strictly adhere to the chain of command.
