Six months in, and the depth of the swap is staggering.

The sad realization is it isn't just one side, it's every single one of them.

The best hope to get anything done is elect all new people on both sides.

Then term limit them to two years.

Anything more than two years they become a swollen tick.

They see every year is an opportunity to steal the taxpayers blind.

I hope every single one of these naval gazing cowards on both sides.

Get thrown out on their collective a$$e$...

I don't see too much problems with most of the Republican Congressmen, they are politicians, that is the problem. I do not see too many problems with the Democrat Congressmen either, they are politicians too and that is the problem.

The polarization of congress is getting out of hand. Both sides are getting too polarized and they are not working together to fix things right. Obamacare is a failure, but both sides should try to figure out a good solution, if the Republicans do repeal it and the Democrats get in, they will repeal what the Republicans did and also the Democrats around the country are going to try to sabotage what is passed to replace Obamacare.

Our whole medical industry is getting way out of hand, way too much fear mongering being spread. They want us afraid of every germ other than the probiotic type. Guess what, these germs have been living with us all along, they do not bother us till our immune system is compromised and blame that on the food and agricultural industry, not the people. Medicines also can weaken our immune systems and make us vulnerable. There is just as much bad as there is good in the medical and Pharma industries. For profit medicine should not be the system we use.

they proved themselves unfit to lead when they bitched for 8 years about obamacare but didn`t lift a finger to write up a plan to replace it.They spent 8 years campaigning for election and made no plans to help the American people once they did get re elected.
I mean come on, spent 8 years bitching about obamacare and not a single minute of those 8 years making a plan on what to replace it with? That tells exactly who they were working for those 8 years and it wasn`t the American people.

They could simply get rid of the individual mandate. If there's one thing Republicans can't stand, it's mandates.

Just out of curiosity, op implies this is the fault of one party... When the other party was the one to allow things to get this bad in the first place.

I blame them all equally.

I admit I expected way more from the Republican Congress.

People are surprised???

None of them for the past 8 years have talked about a solution. It has been nothing but complaints and finger pointing.

And the pendulum swings.

The Heritage Foundation and Republicans invented the individual mandate.

They gave us Obamacare, minus the preexisting conditions clause.

It's easier to tear down than to build.

Eight years. Eight years they've had to create a replacement and now? Now it's just 'vote-a-rama' where a succession of amendments are introduced and voted on until a bill is created. No hearings, no CBO scores just hodge-podge amendments into a bill to send to the house. Is this the new American leadership? Is this how congress is supposed to govern?

I don't know what to think of this country anymore. The president announces major policy changes in 140 characters or less and congress doesn't even write omnibus bills, just throws amendments together until something sticks.

Unfortunately I'm forced to agree with you. TERM LIMITS!

The worst part is, for the first time in many years we have both a mandate, and an opportunity to really make some progress towards dismantling a substantial part of the socialist, big-government welfare state that has been snowballing for the last few decades.

We have a President who is NOT a career politician, who actually has the balls to try and make real progress, and who doesn't care who he pisses off in the process, but unfortunately, the congress just suffers from a SEVERE lack of vision and leadership skills. All they seem to be concerned with is maintaining the status quo, while whining because their feelings are hurt.

We finally have a proactive President, but that just seems to remind Congress how inflated their sense of self-worth has become, and how irrelevant they look on a day-to-day basis.

That being said, I believe that eventually they will come around, and when that happens, we will be able to make real progress towards the agenda that Trump was elected to enact. We'll know for sure by the time mid-term elections get closer.

But in the short term, all they seem to be able to accomplish is wasting time and opportunities.

All this has shown me is that the Republican leadership and the Democrat party are one of the same. Republicans are spineless weasels. They should be swinging for the fences now. Doing some major stuff like dismantling the IRS. Repealing O'Care and coming up with some better free market solutions. Fixing our immigration and border situation. They should have some simple and to the point legislation ready to go.

When Democrats have control, they do major stuff no matter how screwed up... a la Obamacare. Republicans begged for congress and we gave it to them. They begged for the senate and we gave it to them. They then begged for the Presidency and we gave it to them. Now all they have are excuses.

I didn't vote for them to make friends. I voted for them to put their boot on the neck of big government.

The republicans are toast in 2018. I predict a lot of libertarian and moderate Repubs will be jumping ship. Time to go off grid. This country is screwed. It is going to come crashing down.

I can't specifically disagree with you on any point.

As far as the GOP being toast in 2018, there is time to prevent it, and turn it around, but not a lot of time, and if they don't start turning it around soon, all they will have accomplished is to go down in history as the greatest pissed away opportunity of all time.

That being said, my gut still tells me (and I hope it's wrong, but usually it's not) that we passed the point of no return quite some time ago, and no matter how many band-aids are applied, there's already just too much blood on the floor.

And unfortunately, it's our fault. We just stood by and watched Liberty die. The men who forged this nation handed us the greatest 200+ years of the greatest nation that has ever existed, and we just pissed it away.

And you know what? We will absolutely deserve it.

it is time to throw everybody out of congress and start over. Wipe out the whole belonging to a political party stuff the only thing to stand on is what issues are important to the betterment of America and it's people. Have term limits of 2 years. Sounds like not alot of time but anymore and they are subject to be persuaded to turn their back on what is good for America. In fact, that is always a risk for some of the more feeble minded in Congress. There should be a ban on lobbyist. Put those people out of business completely. Our government is constantly being bribed. There should be a set amount candidates can spend during elections. This should be given to them out of a government fund where everyone gets the same amount. Donations to a campaigin can not exceed 100.00 with most of their money coming from the fund. The small donation amount could serve to keep congress honest and not "owe" any one or corporation. ANYONE who was not born in this country or who holds duel citizenship CANNOT hold any government office.

Those Republican senator scums who voted against repeal - they need to explain themselves darn well. Alnd to make sure they are never seen again, party should see to it, they are not re-elected. Other names next time.
