Trump is also donating his salary.

To the dept of education. Good call.

He is also cutting 9.2 billion dollars from the dept of education. Bad call.

Should we be responsible for boner pills???

What about contraception??

Plastic surgery??

Lapband??

Funny how people want all the stuff they personally use paid for and nothing they do not....

Hmmmm...

Viagra is used during the treatment of people suffering from PTSD, you know the whole treat the entire patient aspect.

How exactly does a trans person who works in the stock room hurt military readiness????

There is a Sgt at McConnell enlisted aircrew transitioning, the moment she went on the pills she was medically grounded till the USAF figures out how the pills will react with her physiology in flight. It is estimated this could take 2-4 years, they are literally making up jobs for her to do in the meantime.

Yeah! And while he's at it Trump should also ban left handed people from joining the military! Bunch of f***ing freaks choosing to use the wrong hand. Not in my military!

So if in the course of treating a soldier with PTSD it comes out that they always felt they were actually a female you would have no problem with the government footing the bill for the surgery?

I have stated multiple times that as long as the treatment does not prevent them from doing the job they were hired to do, I do not care.

Like my example from the Sgt at McConnell, she should either be forcibly retrained to a job where it will not have an effect on her job, or be separated from the military.

She should NOT get to sit on her butt shuffling papers in a pretend position collecting a paycheck for 2-4 years over a procedure she chose to have.

Have other military personnel been assigned to desk duty for various medical or disability reasons?

My guess is - - they have.

You just can't see past this being for transgenderism.

I understand the stress of the condition, but ultimately it is a procedure they choose to have, not that they have to have, it will not kill them if they do not transition.

Depression, sure, anxiety, you bet... kill them no.

If command are unwilling to retrain her into another role that sounds like a problem with command. Not the soldier. So why should the soldier be drummed out?

being trans is not a procedure
most trans people don't have anything related to their being trans that could even reasonably be called a procedure.

and just fyi, yeah, it's commonly accepted that transition is absolutely lifesaving.
i guarantee it 100% saved my life, for example.

I can get paperwork if I get a sun burn bad enough I cannot go out and do my job, so elective surgery would be an easy process and out according to the UCMJ if there was a commander worth a dang.

USAF command right now is a shambles of weak spineless politicians, we finally got a good guy into the position of Chief Master Sargent of the Air Force and that may help change the culture.

They will not take any steps on the retraining, because it would look bad and might impact their (the commanders) promotion chances.

So in my opinion neither option I mentioned will ever actually happen, it is just what I think should happen.

If they do not chose to have the full transition, but wish to dress and be referred to as a different gender name I truly do not care, let them serve.

But, you are wrong.

You continue to believe being transgender is a choice. It is not.

Men not being able to "get it up" won't kill them either.

please note I have only been talking about people getting the full procedure done.

If they are not getting the procedure or they can do their job while going through the treatment I do not care.

Only a small percentage of the people that will choose to go all the way would be effected IF my view was the view of the military.

What's the difference?

If you are a man and are forced to live and dress as a woman - - - how would you feel?

With new knowledge and awareness, I'd say many (even most) transgenders will transition much earlier then in the past. Probably in their teens.

I honestly don't see transgenders joining the military just to get surgery. But, for those already in the service - - who have served - - they have earned it.

Not if it prevents them from doing the job they were hired to do.

Take the govt out of it, If I hired bob to do a job for me... bob decided to get the full procedure done and be called sue, After sue got cleared to come back to work she could not do the job as efficiently as before, or was unable to continue doing the job, do I have the right to fire sue?

Then be a cross dresser. That is a choice right? Ex. Ruppal
