We can agree Cialis and Viagra both need to go. And that last line is a non-issue now.

Savings!

And have another Jack Ripper?

I have no idea what that means, and I used to watch Three's Company all the time.

Meanwhile, you don't need an erection to shoot a gun.

This guy from Dr. Strangelove.

Ah, I was thinking Jack Tripper.

As for the movie, you are aware it was satire... right?

But if a person can do the job they should be able to do it this isn't about allowing anyone in the military If a person Trans, gay or whatever is qualified to do the job why not?.
I don't buy other personal being less effective because there is a trans person in the squad heck I thought they are supposed to be the best of the best professional type people.
If they have a prejudice about fellow serving people who are different from them maybe they are not the material you want in a professional military.
In my book anyone who enlists gets a thumbs up from me.

So just to clarify your stance, if the estimated 7000 trans people in the military are capable, but they upset say 1 million other soldiers that would rather not serve with them, you would boot out the million people because they are not professional enough?

So don't pay for the transition. Make it a requirement that military service must be before or after the transition. Sounds like a fair compromise to me.

Remember when white soldiers were "uncomfortable" serving with black soldiers? They got over it.

Sure, I can roll with that.

Throw in no transition drugs or shrinks while serving and you have a deal.

Otherwise they won't be fit to serve and should be discharged.

If it's that important you can repost it, and with more clarity this time. I won't bother looking back to whatever page it was on.

So if Trump says trans people can serve, they just have to do it before or after their transition, that solves the problem.

No I would expect better training.
If your military has a problem with discrimination it needs stamping out.

If this person served (which I have no reason to believe otherwise) then I am as indebted to her as any other soldier, and am proud of her for serving the country.

This goes for any trans person that has served this country. Any political, medical or military readiness disagreement aside, these people should be respected for putting their lives on the line to protect this country.

Having said that, I don't think this means we can't have a serious discussion on rather or not having trans in the military is good or not for the military.

That's a bit of a stretch to say 'it solves the problem.'

In the case of pre-enlistment modification:

1) You'll have genetic women who can't meet the male physical standards even though they claim to be male, plus have undergone surgery.
2) Then you'll have genetic males who can meet the female physical standards but who have obviously undergone surgery.

Scenario #2 is more likely to get enlisted, but may be drummed out if they become disruptive with the other women because they may not be able to fit in.

To which I asked if you had proof that blacks in the military wanted to become another ethnicity though medical procedures, with the army footing the bills.

See what I did there? If my assumption is incorrect, you are free to correct me.

Its not just discrimination. You are over simplifying.

There are not only costs involved, but other challenges as well.

For crying out loud, people with descended testicles are not allowed to enlist. Is it your position that the military is discriminating against these people, or do they feel that the medical condition would be a burden on the service?

so.....

and then? you have experiece in this sort of behavior mod thing?

some studies show the mental distress of "simple" boot-camp is permanently damaging to certain individuals predisposed to heightened sensibilities and moral fiber. Boot camp is about breaking that person and rebuilding it, and that it's done on purpose.

I raise and train horses. gentle schooling and partnership is what works.
bullying and brute force is asinine.

Any healthy, intelligent youth who has skills to help us with infrastructure (domestic issues of all kinds) should NOT be getting shipped to the front lines on threat of 'no education.' que barbaridad

still waiting for sources showing how the military paid for Manning's transition
