Trump does what a politician should do, expanding the middle class and lifting the poor.

If Trump were all those things, no one would need any convincing. Or threads talking about how amazing he is.

Food for thought.

Sadly, yes they would.

You could have Jesus - like turn the other cheek, feed the poor, miracle performing, forgiving, liberal-to-the-core jesus - as president and the Democrats would still be like "yeah, but he is a republican, so he must be bad". Edit: They might be onboard with his healthcare plans though.

(and CNN would then go on to do a story headlined "Highly placed source: President Jesus met with several middle eastern men, having foot fetish orgy, before election" and then strongly reject that they at all twisted the words of their source, Luke, describing the washing of the disciples.)

Aaand you could have actual warmongering, smiting, all powerful, my-people-first God himself, like the baddest badass Yahweh from the sacred scriptures of old, declared president on inauguration day, and Republicans would still go "he's so weak, nobody respects him. Also he hates Israel.", if he had run for the Dems.

(and Alex Jones would then go on to .. well to keep making nonsensical claims about FEMA and death camps, the end of days and how the current administration is planning to smite us all. Perhaps he would then be right for once.)

Mass media and social media are powerful tools. If you are convinced that someone is a terrible person before you even start to research yourself, you may need a lot of convincing to believe that person is actually alright. Pick up some Spinoza, Le Bon, or Bernays to understand mass persuasion...

Well your precious open border immigrants are going to need jobs too aren't they? Jobs perhaps they are qualified for and willing to do for less than an American? They'll probably be getting them from a "rich ahole" too. It sounds like you are saying you're for open immigration but only if they are restricted to the jobs Americans don't want. I take it back, you're not flip floppin', you're babblin' nonsense. Like I said, you're hilarious.

So you support less immigration and more restrictive borders?

Ok but still if these jobs are given to trucked in workers whats the f'in point? Just keep the jobs down in Meh-he-co.

Trump said in Youngstown....."these jobs are coming back. Don't move (as in out of town). It will be interesting. Maybe the infrastructure project is going to be so massive that they will have to fire up much of the old steel industry again. (The legend lives on from the Chippawa on down about the big lake they call Gitche Gumme, never gives up its dead)

It's slightly better because the money will be used in the US supporting our economy to some degree, but is definitely not ideal.
