Girl Scouts now support abortion and lesbianism and transgenderism among other things.

Girl Scouts support abortion? Really?

If that's true...I'm not buying any more of their delicious cookies.

No. They do not. This is from their website:

What is Girl Scouts of the USA's position regarding human sexuality, birth control, and abortion?

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) does not take a position or develop materials on these issues. We feel our role is to help girls develop self-confidence and good decision-making skills that will help them make wise choices in all areas of their lives. Parents or guardians make all decisions regarding program participation that may be of a sensitive nature.

Consistent with that belief, GSUSA directs councils, including volunteer leaders, to get written parental permission for any locally planned program that could be considered sensitive.

A lot of the Catholic diocese are breaking ranks with them over tie with Planned Parenthood at the local level.

www.catholicnewsagency.com...

Kansas City is one. I'm not Catholic, but this explains some of the problems Catholics have with the Scouts recently.

The pro-abortion bias reflects the core convictions of the Girl Scouts’ National Leadership Team and Board of Directors. These individuals, who frame and implement the Girl Scouts’ mission, maintain tight connections with Planned Parenthood, other abortion advocates, and foundations that support them.
Consider:
• GSUSA CEO Anna Maria Chavez collaborated* with Planned Parenthood as head of Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas; (See UPDATE).
• GSUSA National President Connie Lindsey donated to the pro-abortion, pro-LGBT Chicago Foundation for Women;
• GSUSA Board Member Barbara Krumsiek is the Board Chair of the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation which funds Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington;
• GSUSA Board Member Monica Gil is a volunteer and former Board Member (through 2011) of the Saban Free Clinic in L.A., which provides “free and easy” birth control, emergency contraception, and abortion referrals to teens over 12, without parental notice or consent;
• GSUSA Board Member and Executive Secretary Debra Nakatomi is International Commissioner to the pro-abortion World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and promoted contraceptives to Asian teens through California’s Get Real program;
• Laurie Westley, GSUSA Senior Vice President of Public Policy, Advocacy & the Research Institute, previously worked for the National Women’s Political Caucus, a group dedicated to electing pro-choice women.
• Joan Wagnon, the GSUSA Treasurer, Board of Directors, accepted large campaign contributions from late-term abortionist George Tiller while she was Secretary of Kansas’ Department of Revenue and praised Tiller’s “social conscience and … big heart;”
• Ellen S. Fox, GSUSA Board Member from 2008 through 2011, serves on the Investment Committee of the International Planned Parenthood Federation’s Board of Directors.
The list goes on.

That's just the leadership team.

Just what is presidential? Getting blow jobs in the oval office? Saying that as a business owner you did not create your own business? Telling people after terror attacks that those who perpetrated such attacks should not be bothered? Jacking up my healthcare to the point I cannot afford but a person with no job is covered?

Getting a blow job in the Oval Office got Clinton impeached, didn't it?

That's not what Obama said. What Obama said was this:

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

And he was 100% right. In fact, he was echoing a sentiment expressed by Thomas Paine in Agrarian Justice:

Separate an individual from society, and give him an island or a continent to possess, and he cannot acquire personal property. He cannot be rich. So inseparably are the means connected with the end, in all cases, that where the former do not exist the latter cannot be obtained. All accumulation, therefore, of personal property, beyond what a man's own hands produce, is derived to him by living in society; and he owes on every principle of justice, of gratitude, and of civilization, a part of that accumulation back again to society from whence the whole came.

And similarly by Ben Franklin:

All the Property that is necessary to a man, for the conservation of the individual and the propagation of the species, is his natural right, which none can justly deprive him of: But all property superfluous to such purposes is the property of the publick, who, by their laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other laws dispose of it, whenever the welfare of the publick shall demand such disposition. He that does not like civil society on these terms, let him retire and live among savages."

What you've committed to memory is the chopped down out-of-context, misinterpreted meme foisted on you by propagandists. Congratulations on repeating your programming.

I don't know what the next sentence is about at all but I can tell you that Donald Trump took an opportunity after the recent London attack to do his own taking of a tidbit out of context, deliberately misinterpreting its meaning and using it to attack the Mayor of London. Were you proud of that? You want to defend that as well?

As for the ACA, it's got problems and dumbass Donald has only made them worse with his posturing and rhetoric. But you know that right? Look up the remarks of Justine Handelman. By causing uncertainty about subsidies, Trump actually pushed insurers to withdraw from markets and raise premiums.

Anything else I can help you with?

Comparison folks. It is better than just reading fake news.

Absurd comparisons aside, you're hardly one to be talking about "fake news" with your repetition of bogus memes.

Oh good grief not this tired defense of B.O. again.

If you built a business, it wasn't there before you built it. You worked hard and provided a service or commodity people wanted. They exchanged their goods for yours. That does not mean they helped you build your business. If you hired people for your business, they did not have that job before you hired them and you may have trained them. If you hire someone with pre-existing skills, they agreed to take money from your in exchange for their labor. That does not mean they built the business before you.

So yes, YOU BUILT THAT BUSINESS. It didn't magically appear.

Guess what? Business owners pay for fire services. And they pay a HECK of a lot more for those fire services than the average citizen. But guess what? If their house is on fire, those businesses owners don't get more firefighters to put out their fire. They don't get to speed faster on the roads, even though they paid a *heck* of a lot more for them in taxes.

And speaking of roads, roads don't build business. Business prosperity builds roads. A road that doesn't have a business to connect to is just a piece of pavement. We don't build roads for the heck of it. A road must have purpose, and the main purpose is commerce.

So business drives the need for roads and bridges. Strike two.

Mr. Paine, if a person is separated from civilization s/he doesn't need to be rich, s/he already owns everything. Try some Common Sense

Lastly, good job finding a quote from Ben that says government can tax and claim eminent domain, in a compilation of letters to Robert Morris - a fellow founder who built his own prosperity from nothing. Bear in mind that in 1783 when that letter was written, the Articles of Confederation had been in effect for 2 years, and the federal government did not have tax or domain powers.

press-pubs.uchicago.edu...

It's all about the context.

p.s. did you get that stuff here? Quite the coincidence: www.usnews.com...

I still think Trump is going to nationally legalize weed...

Why?

It's going to be his popularity move, pure and simple.

Watch, are you trying to tell me that the 1st billionaire president isn't going to leverage the nations love for weed with the nations need for tax revenue to supplement the wage increase issue?

This guy could beat puppies on stage and if successful with legalization of weed people would re-elect him in a heartbeat, and he could use the ability to leverage that tax revenue to improve various aspects of society that is in need, like I dunno, the infrastructure, schools, free internet for all?

Throw a chicken bone while eating steak kinda deal.

So now the scouts are like Little League baseball. Parents wanting to inject their personal belief system into the organization. How about just letting the young members enjoy the experience.

At least baseball made sense with men trying to live their sports fantasy through the kid's on the team.

When I was in those two organizations, that outside influence wasn't there except for some of the baseball fathers needing victories for their own ego.

Looks like adults can ruin damn near everything for children in today's world.

Looks like nothing is sacred any more, not even scout summer camp. But then creating division via politics is what Mr. Trump likes to do even at scout camp.

The left has been after the Boy Scouts for years because they don't like it. Now all of a sudden, the Scouts are once again sacred because someone they don't like went to the Scouts and said things they don't like.

Wondering if I am meant to be the "left" in that statement. I don't have a gripe about the actual scout members.

Anyway, I would say it about any president who talked his politics BS there instead of talking about what the organization has stood for and the personal accomplishments the scouts can make by learning skills. Something along those lines. It's about them, not him.

I don't need help ante but thanks for caring. I paraphrased a speech not quoted a meme. I know the whole speech. Just like when he called police officers inept when it was a black professor but the knock out game was in full force and not a peep.

What Obama is expressing is his version of socialism. That the collective will make the masses happy. We are all equal. F that.

As far as the ACA, trying to blame vendors leaving on Trump is bull# and you know it. They were already leaving. They got the money promised by the Obama administration, not just him, all of them. Sure was some bang up accounting they did with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac though right? Took all that money from the Treasury that was collected from earnings and propped up a marketplace. Obamacare never offered insurance. It offered buyouts to big pharma.

The BSA is one of the last places that have not given into PC.

Memes...the voice of those who have nothing to say.

Nothing to say about feigned outrage made up by WaPo? There isn't anything to say....watch the video....crowd was HUGE and was cheering at every political point he made....even when he said he would change the saying to drain the sewer.

Can't argue a non argument....

The libtard stories get more and more funny every time....what else can you get ticked off about? It's like they have a whole crew looking at everything going on and figuring out a way to spin some crazed outrage at something not a single person other than they would have noticed.

Keep on keeping on though!

It takes a special mind and it's not pretty, to find those nits to pick.

Thank you for pointing this out. As a former cub scout leader, thank you. Donald Trump's messaged values are the opposite of everything we said we valued. I can't even. Sad day. Thank you for keeping on keeping on.

It's pointless to even bring this stuff up here. Might as well just let it die. The Trump faithful will continue to make self-congratulatory back-patting threads, which can be ignored - and they will always make excuses for pretty much anything Trump does. Ok.. not much anything.. literally -anything- he does. We have Trump supporters saying if Trump colluded with Russia, it's fine with them. So shark-jumping has ensued, and there is no point to even belabor the point with them any longer.

It's obvious Trump has a massive ego, and needs to feed his narcissism whenever he can, including at all events.. even with boy scouts. Poor poor, woe-is-me Trump.

But here, people will excuse anything he does. His social media outbursts which paints him as the least Presidential President in how many decades? It's all good. His firing spree? No worries. His fake news outbursts that only apply to the news sources that paint him in a bad light? It's all good.

So what is the point. You won't change these people's minds.. they have found their personal savior and hero in Trump.

Scouts is a bastion of integrity ?

What do scout leaders and catholic priests have in common ?

He is pandering to his future voters, smart move really even though it may be a little distasteful.

Ya, learning to tie those knots is, "hell," to quote an expletive from...him.

He is the perfect object lesson of what not to be. History will not be kind. Grandkids will have to explain away their Trump supporting grandparents someday.
Ignore the folly of our ways, kids, because it was a huge folly. Huge.
Enough.
Camping rocks though and Eagle Scout projects are no joke. Credit where credit is due. These kids work towards something good. Leave it to the grownups to muck it up.

So there you have our President. A man his supporters claim is an alpha male and yet is clearly so insecure with himself he has to campaign for a job he already has to a crowd where the majority aren't even eligible to vote.

Trump is the first President that never held a government or military high ranking job before, so get over it...he will be very different than all others...lol
