so why are there laws that demand that the minor have parental consent to get one?? if it's a matter or parental rights, then the parent should be able to also decide for the abortion, and that would be that...
and that isnt the case...
I'll agree that the parent or parents should know weather or not their child has chosen an abortion, since it's their responsibility to watch over the child, and there is always a chance of complications after the fact that they might miss if they have no knowledge of the abortion...
but I fail to see the reason for making it necessary for the girl that young to obtain parental permission to obtain the abortion.. rather I would lean towards any parent that would refuse that permission would be negligent!

I think the minors health should be priority number one in any of those discussions and not politics. I think the best source to determine the minors health would be a doctor.

Exactly. I think under the best of circumstances, the parents should be consulted and allowed to counsel their daughter, but it should ultimately be up to the pregnant woman child.

I always argue for choice. Choice is a two way street. I wish that pro-lifers were more inclined to help teenagers like me than to shame and fight those who have made the opposite choice. As a single mother on state aide and food stamps, I was shamed and treated like dirt by upstanding Christian folk!

Here in the south this happen more often that people think, I worked for the school system in my neck of the woods, young girls rape and becoming pregnant by family members happen a lot, the girls are hushed out of school out of site and pregnancies are terminated plain and simple, no news about it no media frenzy.

Is nothing more horrible that knowing a young girl been rape by their own fathers and even grandparent.

No...no, you misunderstand.

Nobody is disputing that abortion has been around since forever...what I was clearly saying is that there wasnb't always such a prevalent agenda to push it, to create this obvious narrative that it's ok...it's never a good thing.

Sexual promiscuity is promoted in the media...as is this narrative that if you don't want a kid - forget exceptional circumstances like rape and incest...not all abortions are a product of a sordid affair - this narrative that if it's just inconvenient for you to have a kid...just get rid of it.

Maybe people have it backwards...maybe the best option isn't so much to promote abortion as a choice, but to convince people that unwanted pregnancy should be avoided to begin with.

Let's not kid ourselves - the truth is this, people are selfish...people want what they want and care not about the consequences...until there's consequences. The message I'm getting for most of you is this:

Lessons need to be learnt...actions should have consequences. But consequences aren't fun...so let's do away with that, 100% murder in favour of sleeping in the bed they made.

Kids are bombarded with sexually suggestive material from the minute they can comprehend it...constantly. They even teach them about abortions, LGBT...I recently saw a video with a drag queen singing to a class full of kids. So don't tell me this has been going on for 5,000 years because you're a LIAR plain and simple.

I'll tell you why people are promoting abortions as a viable option...because they also want to promote filth and sexual promiscuity...and that tends to result in a lot of unwanted pregnancy...let's get to the real issue.

All 12 year olds should require parental guidance where abortion is concerned.

Now there is a sentence i never thought i would be writing.

But when the mother is part of the problem social work will need to step in an help the poor child come to the correct decision for herself. My opinion being 12 year olds, especially emotionally scared 12 year olds are hardly capable of taking care of a baby let alone give it any kind of life so abortion might be the best option.
