yep. Seems they were working on a game plan from thirty or forty years ago and not paying any attention to the mood of the country in the present. They were so focused on locking in the emerging sex and gender issues that they entirely missed rising tide of disgust among more traditional people. Michael Moore didn't miss it though. He could see it. Some of us here could see it plainly that the Clinton Machine was in peril but somehow it escaped them. A truly liberal party would not have been so myopic. But as you say, todays Dem party is pretty much on a par with the Republicans.

You have the moderates who like big government but simply think they can run it better and you have the conservatives who are really more traditional small government, classical liberal types.

Astute. Classical liberalism would much prefer smaller government with less interference on our lives just as the conservative movement to day. What we find in the established democratic power structure is not classical liberalism but exactly what you describe as the moderates in republican politics that simply think they can run things better. Both are wrong.

But for me at least, this threat of large government ruling our lives is the lesser threat of two evils. To me, the greater threat is international corporatism and neither Clinton or Obama nor Trump are making any attempt to keep any power out of their hands.

I personally have never said we lost because of Russia, but none of us know YET on exactly what the Russians did that was so "sophisticated" to influence our election. None of you can say (but you do it all the time) that the Russians did not try and influence our election. If Comey had not reopend the email investigation days before the election, I will say I 100% believe trump would have lost, as he did the popular vote by Millions.

The root cause of said investigation is the reason Trump won.

The more the left pushes blame instead of taking ownership of why they lost, the more and more respect they will lose.

I would have voted for Putin himself as POTUS after the actions of the left over the last 8 years and this election cycle. Bernie was the left's last hope but they pissed on him and so now we have Trump.

It is what it is.

It wasn't a particular political party that caused Trump to be elected, it was the overall dissatisfaction of both political parties who continued to ignore the voice of their constituents. It's been building for years, the American public has been disgusted with their government representatives. Americans were looking for someone who wasn't a career politician, someone that would shake up government and listen to the voice of the people.

Sometimes our demand for change clouds our logical sense of judgement. Unfortunately, Trump is not that man many were seeking. Trump just happened to be the candidate at the right time and place. Unfortunately, people wanted a non-politician so bad, they ignored the numerous red flags that accompanied Trump. The public wanted someone who could relate to them, but found out a billionaire just like millionaire career politicians can never relate to struggling Americans!

That's actually my hope, and the biggest reason I voted for Trump. I knew the Democrats hated him (I'm sure there are pygmies in the deepest darkest parts of Africa who have never seen anyone outside their tribe who know Democrats hate Trump by now), and when the Republicans weren't happy with him either I was all for him.

We are seeing the truth of Washington DC. The far-left Democrats have no idea what to do and only want their jobs... even if that is at the expense of the American people's right to vote! The protests and continual unsubstantiated attacks against a duly-elected President are nothing less than an overt statement that these people think my vote should not count. As soon as I hear the words "voter disenfranchisement" come from a Democratic mouth, everything that follows is nothing but noise to my ears, because they are now the ultimate disenfranchisers.

The Democratic party has absolutely no ideas. They're not even able to come up with an original complaint against Trump. Every single accusation is simply accusing him of what they have been doing. Trump colluded to throw the campaign... no, Hillary colluded with Lynch, Obama, and Brazile and probably others to throw the election. Trump has ties to Russia... no, Hillary gave Russia our uranium and Obama bowed down to Putin continually. Trump wants poor people to lose their insurance... no, Obama caused people to lose insurance both directly by increasing rates so high they couldn't afford it (and then fining them on top of it) or indirectly by increasing deductibles so much they never get to use it. Trump obstructed justice... no, but Lynch did, Hillary did, and probably Obama did. Want to know what a Democrat has been doing behind closed doors? It's easy. Just listen to what they accuse Trump of doing.

Neither party gives a rat's diseased patootie about the middle class. The Democrats certainly don't, because their response to "I'm hurting here" is always "buck up, whiner. You're fine." The Republicans don't, because even when given the power to correct things, they argue about their own petty little agendas. Honestly, no surprise there, though.

I hired Trump for the following reasons:
  • Stop illegal immigration... in process. Illegal crossings are way down and sanctuary cities are about to lose all Federal funding. A nice beautiful wall and jail time for city leaders would be preferable, but it's a definite improvement.

  • Get the economy back... Gas prices are down, good jobs are being created in my area, and there's no sign of the improvements slowing. A good start; now we need lower taxes and infrastructure improvements.

  • Drain the swamp... this one hasn't caught traction yet, but it's starting. I want to see Comey jailed for leaking confidential FBI documents... we have a public admission of guilt. I want to see Lynch investigated and prosecuted as appropriate for interference with the election and obstruction of justice. I want to see O'Donnell, Madonna, Depp, Griffin, and anyone else who made threats against a government official publicly tried under law for their statements. I want to see the reporter and editor of the New York Times who ran that recent story fouling a covert attack on ISIS tied for treason and appropriately punished. I'm waiting on this one.

  • GET RID OF OBAMACARE!... this one may have to wait until 2018, when a new round of actual conservatives are elected.

Someone will come along and tell me I didn't vote for those reasons... but it just shows their lack of reality.

Um...I think the blame has been put entirely on Hilary's campaign (which was over in November of LAST YEAR) for not focusing on traditional Democratic states.

The real question is...why are you guys keeping her in the news? The campaign has been over for months, Trump won. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

Well, hes halfway there i guess. However people did know what dems stood for, for the most part, and centrist, non-party voters rejected it. Too socialist, too sjw, too globalist. Its really that effing simple.

Schumer "we finally realize it wasnt russians, it was us. You just dont know us and how awesome we are." LOL. No Chuck, centrist, non-party voters largely rejected the Dems because they knew them. The platform has to be reeled in on some issues or dems wil continue to lose.

E.g. people dont like having to censor their own thoughts. Dems paint everybody that isnt 100% on board with their program as racists and bigots. Why do you think a bunch of middle america wasnt on board? To be perfectly clear, middle america is not going to vote democrat for tranny bathrooms, paying for other peoples college, and more welfare, and branding themselves as deplorable. Democrats might as well have been handing out flagellation sticks to middle america.

Those are the reasons most people voted for Trump. I didnt think he was the best guy for the job. I voted for Johnson, but Americans havent figured out yet that they dont need politicians to be democrat OR republican.
.
My review of Trump so far is a mixed bag. Some good, some bad. The good - the economy seems to be responding well and the borders are being controlled. The bad - jeff sessions is the swamp monster, and he is super anti-liberty. The ugly - a president tweeting like a middle schooler.

Trump saved the 2nd amendment which is what people voted for, anything he does after that to piss off the Democrats is just icing on the cake.

Left wing loons stacked on the Supreme Court would have pushed the country over the cliff and into the abyss.

Well said, the American public are disgusted with politicians in general because the're bought and paid for by corporate interests, they have little to no integrity when it comes to representing their constituency on their votes. It's high time a new format of representation were instituted that held representatives accountable to their constituents instead of their donors. Then we might see actual representation.

Sounds like their internal polling may have told them they are toast, so now trying to copy Trump's message.
Politicians will do and say anything to get elected, especially weasels like Chuck Schumer.

There message rings hollow :
"A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future"

...because it's the very same people who created the mess in the first place. You'd have to be a fool to believe that they have seen the light.

At the same time he's attacking the 1st amendment which is the corner stone of freedom and democracy. He wants a media ruled and controlled by him! To claim everything is fake news is not only dangerous, its a step in the direction of authoritarianism dictatorship.

He isn't claiming everything is fake news, he is calling out those organizations that seek to slander him with fake news, like the russo collusion narrative.

Stop being emotional and use your brains. It isn't all doom and gloom like the movies, President Trump isn't some two bit villain laughing the evil laugh in some dungeon conspiring to control all, lol, you seriously said authoritarian dictatorship.

You and your fellow trump supporters are the ones that have become emotional and continue to ignore the blatant lies coming out of the horses mouth! How many more recorded videos do you need to see that show unequivocally Trump has lied or contradicted himself! Spare me the condescending attitude. Instead of addressing these facts, his numerous contradictions, the personal attacks on women, the childish, immature and narcissistic character of your messiah, the conflicting reports about meetings with Russian officials, you and your fellow Trump supporters personally attack posters who lay this out! You take the same kind of name calling and bullying right out or Trump's play book. Making excuses for the reason democrats (and some republicans) are attacking Trump is because Hillary lost is so ridiculous and childish it's laughable. What a stupid way to deflect addressing the many issues surrounding Trump's scandals, contradictions and lies.

Trump doesn't identify specifically what he calls fake news. Who are you kidding??? He calls it the "Fake News Media!" That's making an accusation what the media reports is all fake news! He's literally attacking the 1st amendment that protects a free press and is the corner stone of a free society! He clearly wants to control the media and how they report it! He's even attacked conservative reporters on conservative news channels when they question his decisions or his ridiculous rhetoric. When the media has clearly countered his fake news assumptions with documents or recorded video, he continues to call it fake news.

He's doesn't even trust the CIA and calls them liars. It's funny how he sang the praise about Comey when the investigation into Hillary's e-mails was underway. As soon as he's under investigation, Comey now holds no credibility and he fires him! How many of his own people has he fired or demoted because they didn't show him blind loyalty? If you can't be honest with yourself and question the ridiculous statements and lies coming out of our president, than you leave the door open for progression into a system of government that has no checks and balances. Keep ignoring the 800lb gorilla in the room. It's one thing to ignore a few a lies and some bad decisions, it's another thing to ignorantly deny something that's right in front of your face.

Trump starts talking about pardons. Someone who isn't guilty of anything doesn't start talking about pardoning family members and himself! His attorney said, pardons are not on the table and they aren't looking into pardons. Well, if the horse if spewing the words and tweeting about pardons, you can bet your last dollar the idiot is thinking about using pardons to protect him and his close associates. His attorney is using the same double talk and twisted language everyone who supports Trump and his "truth doesn't matter" associates. His attorney wouldn't even address why Trump would even bring up the idea of pardons! Trump's a runaway train and his attorneys can only cover him for so long until they can no longer keep the train on the tracks.

Democrats know that the American public is sick and tired of how they continually shunt blame for Hillary's lose to everyone else, except their party.

Schumer is attempting to show Republicans what REAL INTEGRITY means.

Schumer failed to mention that Hillary's popularity was only about 3 points better than Trump's to begin with and he must have completely forgotten about how the DNC and their superdelegates totally overruled the will of their people.

He also forgot to mention how somewhere near half of the Democratic voters would rather eat rotten fish with bones in it than to cast their vote for Hillary Clinton.

The democrats didn't lose the election on November 8th, they lost it at the Democratic Convention when they nominated Hillary instead of Bernie.

I remember telling my mom that night that the Democrats just lost the election.

...and in other news, water is wet.

Had the Dems run an even remotely better candidate than "her", we wouldn't be having this particular discussion.

This is why we need term limits for one.

But yea, who is going to keep lawmakers in check.. the only people that can do that is themselves and it is never done.
